Abstract
Un freno de inercia es acoplado a una flecha giratoria de una transmision de vehículo donde un accionador de rampa de bola energizado por una bobina eléctrica es usado para cargar un paquete de embrague que crea friccionalmente una torsion de frenado sobre la flecha giratoria para facilitar vinculacion sincronica de engrane. Un sistema de control incluye una unidad electronica de control y un controlador de freno de inercia donde una variedad de sensores proporcionan señales a la unidad electronica de control, la cual usa las señales de los sensores para generar una señal de deceleracion al controlador del freno de inercia, lo cual a su vez genera y suministra el nivel apropiado de corriente eléctrica a la bobina eléctrica que se usa para energizar el accionador de rampa de bola, con ello controlando con precision la tasa de deceleracion rotacional de la flecha.
