Abstract
Un proceso para la recuperación de metales de transición a partir de materiales de cátodos activos que contienen níquel y litio, en donde dicho proceso comprende las siguientes etapas (a) tratar un material de óxido de metal de transición que contiene litio con un agente de lixiviación (preferentemente un ácido seleccionado de ácido sulfúrico, ácido clorhídrico, ácido nítrico, ácido metansulfónico, ácido oxálico y ácido cítrico), (b) ajustar el valor de pH de 2.5 a 8, y (c) tratar la solución obtenida en la etapa (b) con níquel, cobalto o manganeso metálico o una combinación de al menos dos de los anteriores.
