Claims (10)
- 한쌍의 기판 사이에 협지되는 액정층과, 기판의 외측에 배설되는 위상 보상판을 포함하고, 전압 무인가 시에는 상기 액정층은 상하 계면의 액정의 프리틸트각이 정부 반대로, 서로 평행하게 배향처리된 스플레이 배향으로 되어 있으며, 액정표시 구동에 앞서, 전압 인가에 의해 상기 액정층의 배향상태를 스플레이 배향에서 밴드 배향으로 전이시키는 초기화 처리를 행하여, 그 초기화된 밴드 배향상태로 액정표시 구동을 행하는 액정표시장치에 있어서,표시화소 외에 액정층 두께의 작은 영역을 적어도 1곳 포함하며, 또 상기 영역의 액정층에 인가되는 전계강도가, 화소 내 액정층에 인가되는 전계강도보다도 큰 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 한쌍의 기판 사이에 협지되는 액정층과, 기판의 외측에 배설되는 위상보상판을 포함하고, 전압 무인가 시에는 상기 액정층은 상하 계면의 액정의 프리틸트각이 정부 반대로, 서로 평행하게 배향처리된 스플레이 배향으로 되어 있으며, 액정표시 구동에 앞서, 전압인가에 의해 상기 액정층의 배향상태를 스플레이 배향에서 밴드 배향으로 전이시키는 초기화 처리를 행하며, 이 초기화된 밴드 배향상태에서 액정표시 구동을 행하는 액정표시장치에 있어서,표시화소 내에 전계 집중부위를 적어도 한곳을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 2 항에 있어서,상기 표시화소 내에 설치된 전계 집중 부위가 액정층의 두께방향으로 부분적으로 돌출한 표시전극, 혹은 공통전극의 일부 또는, 그 양쪽에 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 한쌍의 기판 사이에 협지되는 액정층과, 기판의 외측에 배설되는 위상 보상판을 포함하고, 전압 무인가 시에는 상기 액정층은 상하 계면의 액정의 프리틸트각이 정부 반대로, 서로 평행하게 배향처리된 스플레이 배향으로 되어 있으며, 액정표시 구동에 앞서, 전압 인가에 의해 상기 액정층의 배향상태를 스플레이 배향에서 밴드 배향으로 전이시키는 초기화 처리를 행하여, 이 초기화된 밴드 배향상태로 액정표시 구동을 행하는 액정표시장치에 있어서,표시화소 외에 전계 집중부위를 적어도 1곳 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 4 항에 있어서,상기 전계 집중부위가 액정층의 두께방향으로 부분적으로 돌출한 전극의 일부인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 한쌍의 기판 사이에 협지되는 액정층과, 기판의 외측에 배설되는 위상 보상판을 포함하고, 전압 무인가 시에는 상기 액정층은 상하 계면의 프리틸트각이 정부 반대로, 서로 평행하게 배향처리된 스플레이 배향으로 되어 있으며, 액정표시 구동에 앞서, 전압 인가에 의해 상기 액정층의 배향상태를 스플레이 배향에서 밴드 배향으로 전이시키는 초기화 처리를 행하여, 이 초기화된 밴드 배향상태로 액정표시 구동을 행하는 액정표시장치에 있어서,표시전극, 혹은 공통전극의 일부, 또는 그 양쪽에 개구부를 가지고 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 6 항에 있어서,상기 개구부가, 스위칭소자를 포함하는 액티브 매트릭스형 액정표시장치의, 평탄화막 상에 형성한 표시전극과 이 스위칭소자와 전기적으로 접속하는 도통구인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 한쌍의 기판 사이에 협지되는 액정층과, 기판의 외측에 배설되는 위상보상판을 포함하고, 전압 무인가 시에는 상기 액정층은 상하 계면의 액정의 프리틸트각이 정부 반대로, 서로 평행하게 배향처리된 스플레이 배향으로 되어 있으며, 액정표시 구동에 앞서, 전압인가에 의해 상기 액정층의 배향상태를 스플레이 배향에서 밴드 배향으로 전이시키는 초기화 처리를 행하며, 이 초기화된 밴드 배향상태에서 액정표시구동을 행하는 액정표시장치에 있어서,표시화소 내에 주위보다도 액정층 막의 작은 영역을 적어도 한 곳 포함하고, 또 상기 영역 내의 액정층에 인가되는 전계강도가, 주위의 액정층에 인가되는 전계강도보다도 큰 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 8 항에 있어서,상기 위상 보상판이, 주축이 하이브리드 배열한 마이너스의 굴절율 이방성을 가지는 광학매체로 이루어지는 위상 보상판을 적어도 1장 포함하는 위상 보상판인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 8 항에 있어서,상기 위상 보상판이, 적어도 1장의 플러스의 위상 보상판을 포함하는 위상 보상판을 가지는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
