Claims (10)
- 능동 매트릭스를 구비하는 이미지 디스플레이 디바이스로서:a) 행 및 열로 분할되는, 네트워크를 형성하는 다수의 광 이미터;b) 이미터에 전력을 공급하기 위한 수단;c) 이미터를 제어하는 수단으로서,- 각 이미터를 위한 전류 변조기로서, 소스 전극, 드레인 전극, 게이트 전극을 포함하며, 소스 전극과 게이트 전극 사이에 이 변조기의 트리거 임계 전압 이상인 전압을 상기 이미터에 공급하기 위해, 드레인 전류가 통과할 수 있는, 전류 변조기;- 각 이미터를 위한 저장 커패시터로서, 제1 단자 및 제2 단자를 포함하며, 각 변조기의 게이트 전극에서 전하를 저장할 수 있는, 저장 커패시터;- 디스플레이 데이터를 각 열의 이미터에 주소지정할 수 있는 주소지정 수단;- 각 행의 이미터를 선택할 수 있는 선택 수단으로서, 선택 수단은 각 이미터를 위한 선택 스위치를 포함하고, 선택 스위치는 주소지정 수단에 의해 공급되는 주소지정 데이터가 각 변조기의 게이트 전극과 소스 전극 사이에 인가되게 하기 위한 것인, 선택 수단을 포함하는, 이미터 제어 수단; 및d) 각각의 역 바이어스 전압 발생기가 나머지 발생기에 의해 생성되는 역 바이어스 전압과 상이한 역 바이어스 전압을 생성하는 다수의 역 바이어스 전압 발생기를 포함하는, 능동 매트릭스를 구비하는 이미지 디스플레이 디바이스에 있어서,- 각 이미터를 위한 역 바이어스 스위치로서, 한편으로는 각 변조기의 게이트 전극과 이 이미터의 저장 커패시터의 제1 단자 사이에 그리고 다른 한편으로는 이 이미터의 저장 커패시터의 제2 단자와 상기 역 바이어스 전압 발생기 사이에 연결되는, 역 바이어스 스위치; 및- 제어 전극으로서, 각 제어 전극은 이미터 행의 모든 역 바이어스 스위치를 구동시킬 수 있는, 제어 전극을 또한 포함하고,각 역 바이어스 전압 발생기는 단지 한 이미터 행의 모든 역 바이어스 스위치에 연결되는 것을 특징으로 하는, 이미지 디스플레이 디바이스.
- 제1 항에 있어서,선택 수단은 선택 스위치를 구동시키기 위한 선택 전극을 포함하고, 상기 선택 전극은 별개이며 제어 전극과 독립적인 것을 특징으로 하는, 이미지 디스플레이 디바이스.
- 제1 항에 있어서,이미터에 의해 형성되는 네트워크는 이미터 행의 제1 그룹 및 이미터 행의 제2 그룹을 포함하고, 두 개의 그룹의 행은 겹쳐지며(interposed), 각 제어 전극은 제1 그룹의 이미터 행의 역 바이어스 스위치의 게이트에 그리고 제2 그룹의 이미터 행의 선택 스위치의 게이트에 연결되어 이러한 이미터 행에 속하는 선택 스위치와 제어 스위치의 동시적인 폐쇄를 제어하도록 하는 것을 특징으로 하는, 이미지 디스플레이 디바이스.
- 제1 항 내지 제3 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,디바이스의 모든 역 바이어스 스위치에 연결된 단일 역 바이어스 전압 발생기를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는, 이미지 디스플레이 디바이스.

- 제1 이미터 행 및 제2 이미터 행을 차례로 포함하는, 제3 항에 청구된 이미지 디스플레이 디바이스를 구동하는 방법으로서,- 미리정해진 주파수에서, 제1 이미터 행의 선택 스위치에 연결된 제어 전극으로의 제1 선택 전압의 인가 단계,- 동일한 미리정해진 주파수에서, 제2 이미터 행의 선택 스위치에 연결된 제어 전극으로의 제2 선택 전압의 인가 단계를 포함하며,제1 선택 전압 및 제2 선택 전압의 인가 단계는 절반-기간만큼 오프셋되고, 이러한 절반-기간의 지속기간은 이미지 절반-프레임(image half-frame)의 지속기간과 동일한 것을 특징으로 하는, 이미지 디스플레이 디바이스 구동 방법.
- 제1 이미터 행 및 제2 이미터 행을 차례로 포함하는, 제2 항에 청구된 이미지 디스플레이 디바이스를 구동하는 방법으로서,- 미리정해진 주파수에서, 선택 전극으로의 선택 전압의 인가 단계,- 동일한 미리정해진 주파수에서, 제어 전극으로의 제어 전압의 인가 단계를 포함하며, 상기 제어 전압의 인가는 상기 선택 전압의 인가에 대한 기간의 일부(a fraction of a period)만큼 시간상 오프셋되는 것을 특징으로 하는, 이미지 디스플레이 디바이스 구동 방법.
- 제7 항에 있어서,기간의 일부는 절반-기간과 동일한 것을 특징으로 하는, 이미지 디스플레이 디바이스 구동 방법.
- 제7 항에 있어서,기간의 일부는 1/3 기간과 동일한 것을 특징으로 하는, 이미지 디스플레이 디바이스 구동 방법.
- 제7 항 내지 제9 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,기간의 지속기간은 이미지 프레임의 지속기간과 동일한 것을 특징으로 하는, 이미지 디스플레이 디바이스 구동 방법.
