- 판상의 고체 고분자 전해질과, 그 고체 고분자 전해질의 일방측에 배치된 캐소드측 전극판과, 타방측에 배치된 애노드측 전극판과, 상기 캐소드측 전극판의 표면에 배치되고, 내면측으로의 가스의 유통을 가능하도록 하는 캐소드측 금속판과, 상기 애노드측 전극판의 표면에 배치되고 내면측으로의 연료의 유통을 가능하도록 하는 애노드측 금속판을 구비한 연료 전지에 있어서,상기 양측의 전극판으로부터 상기 고체 고분자 전해질의 주연부를 연출(延出)시켜, 그 주연부를 이것에 대향하는 상기 금속판에 의해 협지하면서, 상기 양측의 금속판의 둘레를 굽힘프레스에 의해, 전기적으로 절연한 상태에서 기계적으로 봉지하고 있는 연료 전지.

- 제5항에 있어서, 상기 캐소드측 전극판 및 애노드측 전극판으로 이루어지는 군으로부터 선택되는 전극판은, 섬유질 카본 집합체의 적어도 일면에 촉매가 담지되고, 그 타면에, 레이저 조사에 의해 상기 섬유질 카본이 제거된 유로구가 형성되어 있는 연료 전지.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 고체 고분자 전해질의 주연부를 연장하여, 봉지한 금속판의 둘레로부터 노출시킨 연료 전지.
- 제7항에 있어서, 상기 금속판의 둘레와 상기 고체 고분자 전해질의 주연부의 사이에, 더욱 절연 재료를 개재시키고 있는 연료 전지.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 애노드측 금속판 또는 캐소드측 금속판의 적어도 일방의 주연부는, 에칭에 의해, 주연부가 아닌 부분보다, 두께를 얇게 하고 있는 연료 전지.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 캐소드측 금속판에는, 산소를 공급하기 위한 개구부가 설치되어 있는 것인 전지.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 고체 고분자 전해질의 주연부를, 환상의 봉지 부재를 끼워 양측의 금속판 사이에 협지하고 있는 연료 전지.
- 제1항에 있어서, 일방의 금속판의 외연부의 길이를 타방의 금속판의 외연부의 길이 보다 크게 하여, 상기 일방의 금속판의 외연부에 의해 상기 타방의 금속판의 외연부를 협압하도록 꺽어 접은 구조를 가짐과 함께, 상기 타방의 금속판의 표면과 상기 꺽어 접은 외연부의 표면을, 전류의 취출부로 한 연료 전지.
