Abstract
Description
Claims (17)
- (a) PET 폐기물 입자를 물과 섞이지 않는 알코올계 반응 매질 중 화학양론적 양 또는 과량의 강염기 금속과 반응시켜 반응 산물로서 염기 금속과 테레프탈산과의 염 및, 알코올계 반응 매질에 혼입된 에틸렌 글리콜을 얻는 단계. 이 반응은 상기 알코올계 반응 매질의 비점까지의 온도 및 대기압 하에서 수행된다;(b) i) 반응 혼합물을 90℃ 미만의 온도로 냉각하는 단계; ii) 테레프탈산 염을 용해시키기 위해 충분량의 물을 반응 매질에 첨가함으로써, 2개의 상, 즉 테레프탈산 염이 용해되어 있는 수성상과 에틸렌 글리콜이 혼입되어 있는 알코올계 반응 매질로 이루어진 유기상을 얻는 단계; 및 iii) 테레프탈산을 함유하는 수성상을 유기상으로부터 분리하는 액체-액체 분리 단계를 포함하여 이루어지는, 알코올계 반응 매질로부터 이러한 테레프탈산 염을 분리하는 단계;(c) (b) 단계의 테레프탈산 염으로부터 테레프탈산을 얻고, 상기염을 테레프탈산 보다 강한 산과 반응시켜 테레프탈산을 결정으로서 침전시키는 단계로 되는 테레프탈산 형성 단계;(d) (c) 단계에서 침전된 테레프탈산을 테레프탈산이 결정화된 매질로부터 분리하는 고체-액체 분리 단계; 및(e) (b)단계에서 분리된 반응 매질로부터 에틸렌 글리콜과 알코올계 반응 매질을 분리하고 에틸렌 글리콜을 회수하는, 에틸렌 글리콜의 회수 단계를 포함하여 이루어지는, PET 폐기물의 화학적 재활용 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 알코올계 반응 매질은 탄소수가 4-8개인 일차, 이차 또는 삼차의 직쇄형 또는 분지형 알코올 또는 그의 혼합물 중에서 선택된 1가 알코올로 이루어진 것인 PET 폐기물의 화학적 재활용 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, PET 폐기물 입자는 사용된 음료수 병 및 음료수 용기와 같은 어떤 원료로부터 얻어져도 무방하고, 상기 원료는 섬유, 필름 등과 같은 어떠한 형상이어도 좋은 것인 PET 폐기물의 화학적 재활용 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 비누화 반응 단계에서 사용되는 염기는 알칼리성 금속 수산화물 또는 알칼리토 금속 수산화물 중에서 선택되는 것인 PET 폐기물의 화학적 재활용 방법.
- 제4항에 있어서, 사용된 염기는 수산화나트륨 (NaOH) 또는 수산화칼륨 (KOH)인 것인 PET 폐기물의 화학적 재활용 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 테레프탈산 형성 단계인 (c) 단계에서, 이 반응이 일어나는 매질의 pH가 산성 pH에 도달할 때까지 진한 황산 또는 염산을 사용함으로써 테레프탈산 결정을 침전시키는 것인 PET 폐기물의 화학적 재활용 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 고체-액체 분리 단계인 (d) 단계에서, 테레프탈산 결정을, 결정화가 일어난 매질로부터 여과 공정에 의해 분리한 다음 세척 및 정제시키는 PET 폐기물의 화학적 재활용 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 에틸렌 글리콜의 회수 단계인 (e) 단계에서, 에틸렌 글리콜이 혼입되어 있는 알코올계 반응 매질을 증류시킴으로써, 알코올계 반응 매질로부터 에틸렌 글리콜을 분리 및 회수하는 PET 폐기물의 화학적 재활용 방법.
