Claims (3)
- 대향하는 한 쌍의 기판과,상기 한 쌍의 기판간에 배치되고, 표시 상태에서의 벤드 배향 상태와 비표시 상태에서의 스프레이 배향 상태가 다르고, 화상을 표시시키기 전에 비표시 상태의 스프레이 배향 상태로부터 표시 상태의 벤드 배향 상태로 전이하는 것이 필요한 액정층을 구비하는 OCB 모드의 액정 표시장치에 있어서,상기 한 쌍의 기판의 한쪽은, 매트릭스형으로 배치된 복수의 화소 전극과, 서로 교차하도록 배열된 복수의 게이트선 및 복수의 소스선과, 상기 화소 전극의 각각에 대응하여 설치되고, 상기 게이트선을 통해 공급되는 구동 신호에 따라서 상기 화소 전극과 상기 소스선 사이의 도통/비도통을 전환하는 복수의 스위칭 소자를 갖는 어레이 기판이고,상기 한 쌍의 기판의 다른쪽은 상기 어레이 기판에 대향하는 대향 전극을 갖는 대향 기판이고,상기 스위칭 소자를 구성하는 소스 전극이, 상기 소스선으로부터 상기 게이트선에 평행한 방향으로, 또한 상기 게이트선에 절연체를 통해서 겹치도록 연장되어 있는 동시에, 그 겹쳐진 영역 내에 굴곡부를 갖고,상기 게이트선에 상기 화소 전극과 상기 소스선 사이를 도통으로 하는 구동 신호를 공급하여 상기 소스 전극과 화소 전극을 동전위(同電位)로 하는 동시에, 상기 소스선과 상기 게이트선 사이에 전위차를 생기게 함으로써 상기 전이를 행하는, 액정 표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 대향 전극과 상기 화소 전극 사이에도 전위차를 생기게 함으로써 상기 전이를 행하는, 액정 표시장치.
