Claims (20)
- 대향 배치된 한 쌍의 기판과, 상기 한 쌍의 기판 사이에 밀봉된 액정층과, 상기 한 쌍의 기판의 한쪽 측으로부터 입사하는 빛을 반사하는 반사판을 갖는 반사 영역과 상기 한 쌍의 기판의 다른 쪽 측으로부터 입사하는 빛을 상기 한 쌍의 기판의 한쪽 측에 투과시키는 투과 영역을 구비한 화소 영역과, 상기 화소 영역마다 형성된 박막 트랜지스터를 갖는 액정 표시 장치로서,상기 반사판은, 상기 박막 트랜지스터의 게이트 전극 또는 드레인 전극과 동일한 형성 재료로 형성되어 있음과 함께, 제1 금속층과, 상기 제1 금속층의 아래층에 형성되고 상기 제1 금속층의 금속보다 상대적으로 높은 반사율의 금속으로 형성된 제2 금속층의 적층 구조를 갖고, 상기 제2 금속층으로 형성된 반사면을 갖고 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 반사면은 투명 전극으로 덮여 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서,상기 반사 영역의 투과율이 상기 투과 영역의 투과율보다 높게 되도록 형성된 컬러 필터층을 더 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제3항에 있어서,상기 반사 영역은, 상기 컬러 필터층의 아래층 혹은 위층에 형성된 투명층을 갖고 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제3항에 있어서,상기 반사 영역의 적어도 일부는, 상기 컬러 필터층이 층의 두께 방향 전체 혹은 두께 방향의 도중까지 제거되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제5항에 있어서,상기 컬러 필터층을 덮도록 형성되고, 상기 액정에 전압을 인가하는 투명 전극을 더 갖고 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제6항에 있어서,상기 반사 영역은, 상기 컬러 필터층의 하부 또는 상부 또는 그 층과 상기 투명 전극 사이에 형성되고, 상기 액정층의 반사 부위의 층 두께를 투과 부위보다 작게 하는 투명 유전체층을 더 갖고 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제6항에 있어서,상기 반사 영역은, 상기 투명 전극과 상기 액정층 사이에 형성되고, 상기 액정층에 걸리는 실효 전압을 저하시키는 투명 유전체층을 더 갖고 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제7항에 있어서,상기 투명 유전체층은, 상기 컬러 필터층이 제거된 영역 또는 해당 영역을 피복하도록 형성되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 한 쌍의 기판의 한쪽 측으로부터 상기 투과 영역에 입사하여 투과한 빛을 반사하고, 상기 한 쌍의 기판의 다른 쪽 측으로부터 다시 상기 투과 영역에 입사되는 반사부를 더 갖고,상기 컬러 필터층은 상기 화소 영역 중 상기 투과 영역에만 형성되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제10항에 있어서,상기 한 쌍의 기판의 다른 쪽 측에 배치된 백라이트 유닛을 더 갖고,상기 백라이트 유닛은 도광판과 상기 도광판의 배후에 배치된 상기 반사부를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 반사 영역과 투과 영역을 구비한 화소 영역을 갖는 액정 표시 장치의 제조 방법으로서,기판 위에 제1 금속층과 그 위층의 제2 금속층을 형성하고,상기 제1 금속층은 상기 제2 금속층의 금속보다 상대적으로 높은 반사율의 금속으로 형성되며,상기·제1금속층 및 상기 제2 금속층을 패터닝하여, 박막 트랜지스터의 소스/드레인 전극과, 상기 반사 영역에 배치되는 반사판을 형성하고,상기 소스/드레인 전극 및 상기 반사판 위에 절연막을 형성하며,상기 절연막을 패터닝함과 동시에, 상기 반사판의 상기 제2 금속층을 제거하여 상기 제1 금속층을 노출시켜, 상기 제1 금속층이 노출된 반사면을 형성하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치의 제조 방법.
- 제12항에 있어서,상기 절연막을 패터닝하는 공정은, 상기 소스 전극 위에 컨택트 홀을 형성하는 공정인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치의 제조 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 박막 트랜지스터의 형성 재료 중 어느 하나와 동일한 형성 재료로 형성된 요철 형성용 패턴을 더 갖고,상기 반사판은 상기 요철 형성용 패턴 위에 형성되고, 적어도 일부의 표면이 기판면에 대하여 비스듬히 기울어져 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
