Description
Claims (5)
- 第1電極を含む第1基板と、
前記第1電極と対向した第2電極と、前記第2電極上に配置されたリブと、端部が前記第1電極と対向するように前記第2電極上に配置された絶縁層と、を含む第2基板と、
前記第1基板と前記第2基板との間に挟持された液晶層と、を備え、
前記第1電極は、その端縁から内側に延びる複数のスリットを備え、
前記液晶層は、電圧が印加されていないときに前記第1基板と前記第2基板との基板面に対して略垂直に配向する液晶分子を含むとともに誘電率異方性が負であって、
前記リブから離れた側の前記絶縁層の端部は、前記リブから離れる方向に厚さが徐々に小さくなるように構成され、
前記スリットが延びる方向における前記第1電極の端縁と前記リブが配置された位置との間の領域において、前記絶縁層の端部の位置と、前記スリットが延びた先端の位置とが離間するように、前記絶縁層と前記複数のスリットとが配置されている液晶表示装置。 - 前記スリットが延びる方向において、前記絶縁層の端部は、前記スリットの先端よりも前記リブの近くに位置している請求項1記載の液晶表示装置。
- 第1電極と、前記第1電極の端縁を覆うように配置された絶縁層と、を含む第1基板と、
前記第1電極と対向した第2電極と、記第2電極上に配置されたリブと、を含む第2基板と、
前記第1基板と前記第2基板との間に挟持された液晶層と、を備え、
前記第1電極は、その端縁から内側に延びる複数のスリットを備え、
前記液晶層は、電圧が印加されていないときに前記第1基板と前記第2基板との基板面に対して略垂直に配向する液晶分子を含むとともに誘電率異方性が負であって、
前記スリットが延びる方向における前記第1電極の端縁と前記リブが配置された位置との間の領域において、前記絶縁層の端部の位置と、前記スリットが延びた先端の位置とが離間するように、前記絶縁層と前記複数のスリットとが配置されている液晶表示装置。 - 前記スリットが延びる方向において、前記絶縁層の端部は、前記複数のスリットの先端よりも前記リブの近くに位置している請求項3記載の液晶表示装置。
- 第1電極と、前記第1電極の端縁を覆うように配置された絶縁層と、を含む第1基板と、
前記第1電極と対向した第2電極と、前記第2電極が除去された第2スリットと、を含む第2基板と、
前記第1基板と前記第2基板との間に挟持された液晶層と、を備え、
前記第1電極は、その端縁から内側に延びる複数の第1スリットを備え、
前記液晶層は、電圧が印加されていないときに前記第1基板と前記第2基板との基板面に対して略垂直に配向する液晶分子を含むとともに誘電率異方性が負であって、
前記第1スリットが延びる方向における前記第1電極の端縁と前記第2スリットとの間の領域において、前記絶縁層の端部の位置と、前記第1スリットが延びた先端の位置とが離間するように、前記絶縁層と前記複数の第1スリットとが配置されている液晶表示装置。
