Claims (6)
- 광학 디스플레이에 있어서,액정 모듈;광학 캐비티;상기 액정 모듈과 상기 광학 캐비티 사이에 배치된 흡수 편광기; 및상기 광학 캐비티와 상기 흡수 편광기 사이에 배치되어, 제1 편광을 갖는 광은 투과시키고 상기 제1 편광을 갖지 않는 광으로서 직교각 또는 큰 이축각(high off-axis angles)을 나타내며 입사하는 광은 반사시켜 상기 광학 캐비티에 의해 순환되도록 하여 상기 광학 디스플레이의 휘도를 증가시키는 광각(wide-angle) 반사 편광기를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 광학 디스플레이.
- 디스플레이에 있어서,광원;광학 캐비티;정보를 디스플레이하도록 변경될 수 있는 광학 상태를 갖는 디스플레이 모듈; 및상기 광원과 상기 디스플레이 모듈 사이에 배치되고, 적어도 하나의 복굴절 재료와 적어도 하나의 제2 재료를 갖는 반사 편광기 -상기 제2 재료는 상기 복굴절재료를 기준으로 하여 선택된 굴절율을 갖고, 상기 복굴절 재료와 상기 제2 재료 사이에서 다수의 인터페이스를 갖도록 배치되어, 제1 편광을 갖는 광이 상기 반사 편광기에 의해 반사되는 동안에 제2 편광을 갖는 광은 상기 반사 편광기를 투과함으로써 상기 반사 편광기에 의해 반사된 상기 제1 편광을 갖는 광이 상기 광학 캐비티에 의해 순환되어 상기 디스플레이의 휘도를 증가시키도록 작용함-;을 포함하는 디스플레이.
- 디스플레이에 있어서,램프;상기 램프에 인접한 에지를 가지는 광 가이드(light guide) -상기 램프로부터의 광은 상기 광 가이드의 상기 에지에 결합되어 상기 광 가이드의 출사면(exit surfac)을 통해 상기 광 가이드를 출사함-;상기 광 가이드의 출사면과 대향하는 면에 배치된 반사 표면;디스플레이 모듈;상기 광 가이드와 상기 디스플레이 모듈 사이에 배치된 광각 반사 편광기 -상기 광각 반사 편광기는 직교각 또는 광각으로 입사하는 제1 편광의 광에 대해 높은 투과도를 나타내고, 상기 제1 편광을 갖지 않고서 직교각 또는 큰 이축각으로 입사하는 광에 대해 높은 반사도를 나타내며, 상기 광각 반사 편광기에 의해 반사되는 광은 상기 반사 표면을 때린 후에 상기 반사 표면에 의해 순환되어 상기 디스플레이의 휘도를 증가시킴-를 포함하는 디스플레이.
- 제1항 및 제3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 반사 편광기는 복굴절 재료를 포함하는 디스플레이.
- 제1항 및 제3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 반사 편광기는 복굴절 재료 및 다른 재료로 구성된 다중층 스택을 포함하는 디스플레이.
- 제4항에 있어서, 상기 광학 편광기는 복굴절 재료 및 다른 재료로 구성된 다중층 스택을 포함하는 디스플레이.
