Claims (3)
- 소정 간격을 두고 대향 배치되는 상하 기판;상기 상하 기판 대향면에 각각 형성되는 수평 배향막 ;상기 기판상의 수평 배향막 사이에 개재되며 수개의 액정 분자를 포함하는 액정층;상기 하부 기판 뒷면 및 상부 기판 뒷면에 각각 배치되는 제 1 및 제 2 편광판으로, 상기 편광판들의 편광축은 서로 평행하게 배치되는 제 1 및 제 2 편광판을 포함하는 TN 액정표시장치에 있어서,상기 제 1 편광판과 하부 기판 사이 및 제 2 편광판과 상부 기판 사이 중 적어도 한 부분 이상에 포지티브 위상 보상 필름이 배치되고, 상기 액정층내의 액정 분자들의 장축이 기판에 평행하면서, 상하 기판사이에서 90도 꼬임을 가지고 배열되며, 상기 포지티브 위상보상필름내의 분자들의 광축이 기판에 수직을 이루도록 배열되되, 상기 기판양측에 배치되는 경우의 포지티브 위상 보상 필름의 물질로는, 굴절율 이방성값과 위상 보상 필름의 두께와의 곱이 200 내지 700 nm가 되는 물질이 사용되고, 기판 일측에만 배치되는 경우의 포지티브 위상보상필름의 물질로는 굴절율 이방성값과 위상 보상필름의 두께와의 곱이 400 내지 1400nm가 되는 물질이 사용되는 것을 특징으로 하는 TN 액정표시 장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 하부기판에 부착된 편광판의 편광축은 하부 기판의 러빙축에 일치하고, 상부기판의 편광판의 편광축은 하부 편광판의 편광축과 평행한 것을 특징으로 하는 TN 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 액정 분자의 굴절율 이방성값과 상하 기판간의 거리의 곱이 0.48 내지 1.09㎛인 것을 특징으로 하는 TN 액정 표시 장치.
