Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain excellent printing quality without producing unevenness of ink, by a method wherein hot-melt powder ink is melt-printed on a circulating endless belt-shaped base film and then transferred to an ordinary paper on a platen roller. CONSTITUTION:An endless belt-shaped base film 17 stretched between a driving pulley 19 and a heat roller 20 is circulated and printing instructions are fed in a thermal head 18 to heat the rear surface of the film 17 in order to melt hot- melt powder ink 16 in a container 15, thereby to print necessary characters, symbols and the like (b) on the surface of the film 17. Then, the film 17 is passed through a slight gap between a platen roller 21 and the roller 20 in order to heat the film 17 by means of the roller 20 to melt the ink 16 as well as being the film 17 into close contact with an ordinary paper 22 passing through the gap at the same speed as the film 17, thereby to transfer the characters, symbols and the like (b) to the ordinary paper 22.
