Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the crosstalk between the adjacent channels of a magnetic head, by making the length of the gap between magnetic cores for the two adjacent channels great on an adjoining side and small on the opposite side. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head consists of a magnetic core 1 for the 1st channel, a magnetic core 2 for the 2nd channel, and a shielding plate 3. The gap length in the track-width direction in the magnetic cores for the same channel is made great on an adjoining-channel side and small on the opposite side. Consequently, intense magnetic flux is generated where the magnetic gap is small and weak magnetic flux is generated where it is great; and the magnetic flux on the shielding plate side is weakened in inverse proportion to that of the opposite side. Consequently, crosstalk is reduced to <=-45 dB without an increase in work cost and deterioration in work precision.
