Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform hihgly reliable welding easily and safely by making two units of oppositely provided torches adjusrable individually by means of a series of parallel link mechanisms thereby correcting the torch positions independently during welding operation. CONSTITUTION:A plate cam 10 is oscillated around a shaft 9 in a direction OP by the ecceentric rotating motion of an eccentric disc 36 supported pivotally by a motor not shown and a tensile spring 15, and the oscillating motion thereof is transmitted to torches 13, 13' by means of parallel link mechanisms consisting of shafts 3, 5, 6, 8, 3', 5', 6', 8' and links 4, 7, 4', 7', torch holders 12, 12'. While the torches 13, 13' oscillate in directions MN, M'N', they weld round bars 34. The aiming positions of the torches 13, 13' are adjusted by rotating handles 11, 11' in a direction A or B, and the arc lengths are adjusted by moving the links 4, 4' in directions I, J, I', J' by means of adjusting mechanisms not shown. The weaving widths are adjusted by moving the contact position of the disc 36 with a plate cam guide 10.
