Abstract

The machine has a drive to move a rotary grinder (3) to and fro on a tangential arc as a secure welded tube (1) is advanced. The axis (30) of the grinder is parallel to that (10) of the tube and is mounted on an oscillating and reciprocating lever (4) displaceable in a plane that is perpendicular to the axis of the tube. The fulcrum (42) of the lever (4) is mounted on a segmental slide (43) in a slot (51), the slide (43) reciprocating along the slot (51) under the action of a cam rotated by an electric motor (53). The slot (51) is concentric with the tube (1), and the suspension of the lever (4) is completed by an elastic hanger (54) and a nose-roller (41). The tube (1) is advanced axially on rollers (11) and variations of the machine treat the exterior or the bore of the tube (1).
