Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a titled device which makes the oscillating motion of a welding torch and arc length control simple and is light in weight by employing a welding torch holding mechanism which travels a welding torch by utilizing the flange surface of a pipe to be welded and utilizes parallel link mechanisms.
CONSTITUTION: A traveling carriage 27 having a welding torch 16 and a connecting base 12 are placed on the end face of a flange 100a of a pipe 100 on one side by means of guide rollers 25, 125 and 13, and the carriage 27 is moved in an X direction. Next, in this state, a driving roller 3 is brought in press-contact with the outside circumferential surface of the flange 100a and the inside and outside circumferential surfaces of the pipe 100 are grasped under pressure by guide rollers 24, 124 in press-contact with the inside circumferential surface of the pipe 100. The carriage 27 is turned in a prescribed direction upon revolution of the roller 3. Next, a motor 2 is driven to move a support plate 23 upward and downward until the leading end of the torch 16 is aligned to a weld line 150. Next in this state a motor 28 is driven to oscillate a link 17 holding the torch 16 at a prescribed angle by means of a link 18; at the same time, the leading end part of the torch 16 is oscillated in the range of prescribed angles, whereby the oscillation motion of the torch 16 is accomplished.
