Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to manufacture a clad material composed of a soft metal and hard metal having equal thickness, respectively, by piling up a thick material of soft metal on the soft metal side of pessure welding material and making pressure welding again, after both soft metal and hard metal are pressure welded by fixing their thickness ratio to a specified value, when the soft metal and hard metal are pressure welded.
CONSTITUTION: Soft metal 1, such as Cu, Cu alloy, Al, Al alloy, Ti, Ti alloy, etc., and hard metal 2, sucu as stainless steel, alloy steel, carbon steel, soft steel, etc., are piled up with thicknesses of t' and T1, respectively, and compressed and pressure welded. In this case, the pressure welding is made a t'/T1 value of 0.3 and 40% of compressibility, and a pressure welded material composed of soft metal 1' having a thickness of T2' and hard metal 2' having a thickness of T2' is obtained. Thick metallic plate 4 of the same material as the soft metal has is pilled up on the soft metal side of the pressure welding material and pressure welded, and then a diffusion annealing is made on the pressure welded material in an inert gas. Thus a clad material composed of soft metal 4' of a thickness of t2 and hard metal 2" having a thickness of T2 which is the same as the t2, is manufactured.
