By combining the end of the plane glass fiber 5 like this, the leak path caused by the surface tension phenomena at the glass end is prevented from being formed when the glass end is sealed. The end treatment of such a plane glass fiber 5 can easily be adjusted by heating the glass fiber 5 in such a degree as it is softened.
