Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase a cross section area of wire electrode, apply tensile force of higher intensity, thus improved processing precision by elongating the cross section size of a wire electrode for a wire-cut electrification machining device in a direction where the wire electrode proceeds and shortening said size in a directon at right angle with the wire electrode. CONSTITUTION:An electrode discharge process is carried out in a processing clearance 4 between a work 2 and the electric discharge surface 3B of a wire electrode 3. An effective electric discharge processing surface represents the short diameter D2 of the wire electrode 3 opposed to a process preceeding direction B. The sizes in a position where the wire electrode 3 cross section proceeds and a direction at right angle with the said corss section represent a long diameter D1. Therefore as compared with a wire electrode with a circular cross section, a cross section area for an equal electric discharge processing is larger. For this reason, it is possible to increase the tensile force of the wire electrode 3 by the increase of the cross section area, and carry out high precision machining with reduced wire vibration. In addition, process energy supply can be increased and processing velocity be accelerated.
