Abstract
PURPOSE:To manufacture an angled part as sharp as possible in machining the edge form of an article to be machined by an electric discharge machining by constituting the device so that an electrode moves a circular-arc machining route around a position apart from the tip of the angled part as a rotational center. CONSTITUTION:The electrode 2 connected to one pole of a power source for electric discharge machining moves from a position a to a position b along a center line 4 from the direction shown by an arrow A, while generating electric discharge between the same and an article 1 to be machined connected to the other pole of the power source. The position b is the position of the electrode 2 taken thereby correspondingly when the upper side surface of the tip part 5 is machined by electric spark. Next, the electrode 2 moves from the position b to d via c. This section of the route is a semicircular-arc trail around a point 7 as a center located apart from the tip part 5 by a distance L on the extension of the bisector of the angled part 3 and also is the machining route. In addition, the distance L may well be larger than a discharge gap l. In this way, the edge of the article can be machined into a sharp form.
