Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable advancement toward complete unmannedness without suffering from damage on the necessary part of a workpiece, by setting the direction of movement of a spark erosion locus opposite to that of torque as to the center of gravity relating to the position of starting. CONSTITUTION:After an approach run section 20D reaches the position 20A of starting of spark erosion for a desired machined shape, a drive motor 68 for horizontal motion is controlled under control to gradually and horizontally move a wire electrode 14 laid over a carrier 50 and a drive motor 48 for appropriate vertical motion is rotated under control to relatively vertically move the wire electrode 14. Spark erosion is caused by the electrode 14 to draw a desired machining locus 20 in a workpiece 10. The direction of movement of the locus 20 is set opposite to that of torque 72 as to the center G of gravity of the desired shape to be made in the workpiece 10. Advancement toward complete unmannedness is thus enabled without suffering from damage on the necessary part of the workpiece 10.
