Abstract
PURPOSE: To keep the temperature of bearing oil at a certain level, by setting a back-up system of cooling water and flowing cooling water from an overflow pipe of head tank after switching to the reserve system when the oil temperature tends to rise above the level.
CONSTITUTION: The feed system of cooling water for an oil cooler 6 is composed of normal cooling water 12 downstream a water temperature regulating valve 33 and reserve cooling water system 32. The normal cooling water system 12 is used while the temperature of bearing oil is kept within a preset level. But if the temperature rises above the level out of control, an output signal 23 from a temperature regulating device 21 is transmitted to a temperature control valve 33 of the reserve system, and the valve 33 is opened while another valve of the normal system is closed. Since the amount of cooling water kept in the system is constant and the cooling water reserved becomes excessive, the water in reserve is permitted to flow through an overflow pipe 17 of a head tank 16.
