Abstract
PURPOSE: To considerably reduce the cost of equimpment for treating waste water by setting an aerator in a raw water vessel besides an aeration vessel and by charging part of activated sludge into the raw water vessel to allot a portion of the function of the aeration vessel to the raw water vessel.
CONSTITUTION: A change in flow rate of waste water is absorbed in raw water vessel 1, and the flow rate is made uniform. At the same time, part of activated sludge is charged into vessel 1 from settling vessel 3 through pump 22, box 23, regulation valve 26, flow rate regulation meter 28, etc., and it is aerated through blower 8 and aeration pipe 9. Thus, a portion of the function of aeration vessel 2 is allotted to vessel 1. Since the amt. of the sludge charged into vessel 1 is controlled with flow rate measuring device 27, meter 28, ratio controller 29, etc. correspondingly to raw water flow rate measuring device 7, the sludge concn. is held constant independently of the water level of vessel 1 to purify the waste water. As a result, the load of vessel 2 is relieved considerably, and the vol. thereof is reduced remarkably.
