Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a longer blade length by having steam supplied at a turbine entering to a group of the first stage wherefrom dividing the steam at an intermediate stage into two groups, of which one streams downstream as it is while the remainder being passed to a group of the second stage.
CONSTITUTION: Steam supplied to a low pressure turbine via a steam pipe 17 flows to a group of the first stage through a steam supply chamber 18, being extracted about half of it at an outlet of an intermediate stage from an opening 20 for a branch line to a branch line chamber 19, therefrom streaming to an annular chamber 22 via an interconnecting line 21, and flows through a group of the second stage in due order performing work. In the meantime, the remained steam flows through the downstream stage and streams out entering a condenser not shown in the drawing. With the means, the steam temperature and pressure at an inlet of the group of the second stage is decreased to proper values, and a blade length at an upstream stage of the second stage may be formed correspondingly longer. As a consequenct, the leakage loss and others will be decreased.
