Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the stability and reliability of a piston valve installed in a cooling water piping of an oil cooler for an oil cooled two stage screw compressor by having said valve interconnected to the pressure generated by the compressor.
CONSTITUTION: A compressor comprises a low pressure stage 11 and a high pressure stage 1h, an oil cooler 4 connected to an oil reservoir part 2t of an oil seperator 2 via an oil piping 3, an oil piping 5 connected to an oil cooler 4 to supply cooled oil to the compressor 1, and a piston valve 9 installed in the cooling water piping 4w of the oil cooler 4 with a pressure regulating valve 10 for applying the pressure exceeding a set pressure to the piston valve 9 to close the opening of said piston valve 9 to reduce the amount of the cooling water.
