Description
Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.動作回路を形成するために電源と電気負荷との間に接続されることができ、 そのように接続されたとき上記回路を過電流から保護する電気保護システムであ って、 a.上記動作回路において、上記電源と上記電気負荷との間に直列に接続され た回路遮断要素を備え、この回路遮断要素は、 (1)正常な電流INORMALがこの回路遮断要素を流れるのを許容する閉状 態と、 (2)多くとも、INORMALよりもかなり小さい低減電流しかこの回路遮断 要素を流れるのを許容しない開状態とを有し、 b.また、上記動作回路において、上記負荷に並列に接続された制御要素を備 え、この制御要素は、 (1)(i)この制御要素の両端間の電圧が正常な電圧VNORMALであると きにオン状態をとり、 (ii)この制御要素の両端間の電圧が低下してVFAULT以下になっ たときにオフ状態に変わり、 (2)また、上記回路遮断要素に機能的に連結されて、制御要素がオン状 態にあるときに、回路遮断要素は閉状態にあり、制御要素がオフ状態にあるとき には、回路遮断要素は開状態にあり、 c.また、バイパス要素を備え、このバイパス要素は、 (1)上記回路遮断要素と並列に接続され、 (2)(i)上記回路遮断要素が故障状態にあり、かつ、上記電流INORM AL が上記バイパス要素を通過させられている場合に、上記制御要素の両端間の電 圧がVFAULTよりも大きくなる始動状態と、 (ii)上記制御要素の両端間の電圧がVFAULT以下に降下した結果 として回路遮断要素が故障状態となっている場合に、バイパ ス要素を通過する電流が、制御要素における電圧がVFAULT以下に維持されるよ うなものである停止状態とを有している ことを特徴とする電気保護システム。 2.請求項1に記載のシステムにおいて、 a.上記制御要素は継電器コイルを備え、この継電器コイルは、 (1)この継電器コイルの両端間の電圧がVNORMALであるときに活性化さ れる一方、 (2)この継電器コイルの両端間の電圧がVFAULT以下に低下したときに 非活性化され、 b.上記回路遮断要素は上記継電器コイルと連結された1組の継電器接点を備 え、上記継電器接点は、 (1)上記継電器コイルが活性化されたときに閉じられる一方、 (2)上記継電器コイルが非活性化されたときに開かれる ことを特徴とするシステム。 3.請求項1に記載のシステムにおいて、 a.上記回路遮断要素は電界効果トランジスタ(FET)を備え、このFET は、 (1)ゲート、ソース、およびドレインを備え、 (2)FETのゲート電圧が正常なゲート電圧であるときに正常な回路電 流INORMALを通過させ、 (3)FETのゲート電圧が所定のゲート電圧量だけ上記正常なゲート電 圧よりも低下したときに、多くても、INORMALよりもかなり小さい低減電流しか 流さないように切り替わり、 b.上記制御要素は、上記FETのゲート電圧を決定する分圧器を備える ことを特徴とするシステム。 4.請求項1乃至3のいずれか1つに記載のシステムにおいて、 上記バイパス要素はPTC装置であることを特徴とするシステム。 5.請求項1乃至4のいずれか1つに記載のシステムにおいて、 上記バイパス要素はポリマーPTC装置であることを特徴とするシステム。 6.請求項1乃至5のいずれか1つに記載のシステムにおいて、 上記動作回路において、上記負荷と上記制御要素との間で上記負荷と直列に接 続された第2の回路遮断要素を備え、この第2の回路遮断要素は、 a.(1)正常な電流INORMALが上記負荷を流れるのを許容する閉状態と、 (2)多くても、INORMALよりも相当に小さい低減電流しか上記負荷を流 れるのを許容しない開状態とを有し、 b.上記制御要素がオン状態にあるときには上記閉状態にあり、上記制御要素 がオフ状態にあるときには上記開状態にある ことを特徴とするシステム。 7.電源と、電気負荷と、請求項1ないし6のいずれか1つに記載の電気保護シ ステムとを備えた電気回路。
