Abstract
Description
Claims (23)
- 1.端部を有するコイルと該端部の一方に固着された拡張部材とを備えた離脱可 能な閉塞コイル。
- 2.前記拡張部材がボールである、請求項1に記載の離脱可能なコイル。
- 3.前記コイルの材料が、プラチナ、金、タングステン、またはこれらの合金か ら選択される、請求項1に記載の離脱可能な閉塞コイル。
- 4.前記コイルの材料がポリマーである、請求項1に記載の離脱可能な閉塞コイ ル。
- 5.前記コイルの材料が炭素繊維である、請求項1に記載の離脱可能な閉塞コイ ル。
- 6.血管内の選択された部位を閉塞するために使用される押出し具−コイルアセ ンブリであって、(a)基端部に固着された拡張部材を有するコイル、(b)遠 方端部に受口を有し、該受口の直径が該コイルに固着された拡張部材の直径より 小さい、押出し具ケース、および (c)該押出し具ケース内に配備され、該押出し具ケースおよび該コイルに対し て第1の位置から第2の位置へ軸方向に移動し得、該コイルと該拡張部材とを押 して該受口の喉部を通過させ、これにより該コイルを該押出し具−コイルアセン ブリから分離させる、プランジャー、 を備えた、アセンブリ。
- 7.前記拡張部材がボールである、請求項6に記載のアセンブリ。
- 8.前記コイルが螺旋状、無秩序な形状、または直線の形状である、請求項6に 記載のアセンブリ。
- 9.前記受口の遠方端部にスロットが形成されている、請求項6に記載のアセン ブリ。
- 10.前記受口の喉部に溝が形成されている、請求項6に記載のアセンブリ。
- 11.プランジャーワイヤをさらに備えた、請求項6に記載のアセンブリ。
- 12.前記プランジャーワイヤおよびフランジャーヘッドを前進させる手段をさ らに備えた、請求項11に記載のアセンブリ。
- 13.血管内の選択された部位を閉塞する方法であって、(a)カテーテルの遠 方端部により該部位に接近する工程、(b)請求項7に記載のアセンブリを、前 記受口の喉部より基端部側に位置する前記コイルに接着した前記ボールと共に、 該カテーテルを通って該カテーテルの該遠方端部より遠方の位置まで前進させる 工程、 (c)該コイルを該押出し具−コイルアセンブリから離脱させるため、該ボール に対して該押出し具のヘッドを延ばす工程、および (d)該カテーテルと該アセンブリとを血管から退却させる工程、 を包含する、方法。
- 14.血管内の選択された部位を閉塞するために使用される、離脱可能な押出し 具−コイルアセンブリであって、(a)基端部と遠方端部とを有し、該遠方端部 の内部が、閉塞コイルと摩擦により嵌合するがこれを通し得るようにされている カテーテルシース、 (b)該カテーテルシースの基端部から遠方端部まで延び、該カテーテルシース 内に位置し、そして閉塞コイルの内部と摩擦により嵌合するのに適切な先端部を 有する、ガイドワイヤ、 (c)該ガイドワイヤ上に配備され、該カテーテルシースの遠方先端部の内部と 摩擦により嵌合する程に十分に大きい直径を有する1つ以上の閉塞コイル、およ び(d)該カテーテルシースの内径内の該コイルより基端部側に配備され、内部 を該ガイドワイヤが貫通する、押出し具シース、を備え、 該押出し貝シースが、該カテーテルシースの遠方端部に向かって軸方向に移動し 得、これにより1つ以上のコイルを押して該カテーテルシースの遠方端部を通過 させて該ガイドワイヤの遠方端部から分離させ得る、アセンブリ。
- 15.前記カテーテルケースの遠方端部が縮径にされている、請求項14に記載 のアセンブリ。
- 16.前記コイルが螺旋状コイルである、請求項14に記載のアセンブリ。
- 17.前記コイルが直線形状である、請求項16に記載のアセンブリ。
- 18.前記コイルが無秩序の形状である、請求項16に記載のアセンブリ。
- 19.前記コイルの数が1より多い、請求項14に記載のアセンブリ。
- 20.前記ガイドワイヤの先端部が操作可能である、請求項14に記載のアセン ブリ。
- 21.前記操作可能な先端部の外径が、前記1つ以上のコイルの内径とほぼ等し い、請求項20に記載のアセンブリ。
- 22.前記閉塞コイルが放射線不透過性の材料よりなる、請求項14に記載のア センブリ。
- 23.前記放射線不透過性の材料が、プラチナ、タングステン、金、またはこれ らの合金から選択される、請求項22に記載のアセンブリ。
