Claims (7)
- 屈折率が異なる第1の層および第2の層が繰り返し積層されている第1繰り返し積層構造、並びに、屈折率が異なる第3の層および第4の層が繰り返し積層されている第2繰り返し積層構造を備える反射型偏光板本体と、
前記反射型偏光板本体の一方の側面に配置され、厚さ方向の位相差を補償するRth位相補償層と、
を備え、
前記第1の層の屈折率は前記第2の層の屈折率より高く、前記第1の層は前記第2の層より薄く、
前記第3の層の屈折率は、前記第1の層の屈折率と同じであり、
前記第4の層の屈折率は、前記第2の層の屈折率と同じであり、
前記第3の層の厚さおよび前記第4の層の厚さは同じであることを特徴とする偏光板。 - 前記第1繰り返し積層構造は、前記Rth位相補償層に接していることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の偏光板。
- 前記反射型偏光板本体は、3つの前記第1繰り返し積層構造を備え、
前記3つの前記第1繰り返し積層構造の間及び外側にはバッファ層が形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の偏光板。 - 前記Rth位相補償層は、TAC層を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の偏光板。
- 前記Rth位相補償層は、ネガティブCプレートまたはシクロオレフィンポリマー(COP)を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の偏光板。
- 前記Rth位相補償層は前記反射型偏光板本体に配備され、
前記3つの前記第1繰り返し積層構造の外側のうちの一方の外側には前記バッファ層が配置され、他方の外側には前記Rth位相補償層が配置されることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の偏光板。 - 吸収型偏光板である上偏光板及び上絶縁基板を備える上パネルと、
下偏光板及び下絶縁基板を備える下パネルと、
前記上パネルと前記下パネルとの間に配置される液晶層と、
前記下パネルの下に配置され、光を提供するバックライトユニットと、
を備え、
前記下偏光板は、
屈折率が異なる第1の層および第2の層が繰り返し積層されている第1繰り返し積層構造、並びに、屈折率が異なる第3の層および第4の層が繰り返し積層されている第2繰り返し積層構造を備える反射型偏光板本体と、
前記反射型偏光板本体の一方の側面に配置され、厚さ方向の位相差を補償するRth位相補償層と、
を備え、
前記第1の層の屈折率は前記第2の層の屈折率より高く、前記第1の層は前記第2の層より薄く、
前記第3の層の屈折率は、前記第1の層の屈折率と同じであり、
前記第4の層の屈折率は、前記第2の層の屈折率と同じであり、
前記第3の層の厚さおよび前記第4の層の厚さは同じであることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
