Description
a)少なくとも1つのエチレン系不飽和モノマー、
b)選択的に架橋剤、
c)少なくとも1つの開始剤及び
d)水
を含有するモノマー溶液の液滴を、周囲の気相中で重合させることによる、吸水性ポリマー粒子の製造方法によって解決され、前記モノマー溶液が酸素を少なくとも0.0002質量%含有し、かつ前記気相の酸素含量が少なくとも0.5体積%であることにより特徴付けられる。
測定は、他に記載されない限り、23±2℃の外界温度及び50±10%の相対空気湿度で実施されたものである。前記吸水性ポリマー粒子は、その測定前に十分混合される。
前記吸水性ポリマー粒子の残存モノマー含量は、EDANA(European Disposables and Nonwovens Association)により推奨された試験法No. 410.2-05 "Residual monomers"に従って測定される。
前記吸水性ポリマー粒子の含水量は、EDANA(European Disposables and Nonwovens Association)により推奨された試験法No. 430.2-05 "Moisture content"に従って測定される。
前記吸水性ポリマー粒子の遠心機保持容量は、EDANA(European Disposables and Nonwovens Association)により推奨された試験法No. 441.2-05 "Centrifuge retention capacity"に従って測定される。
収率の測定のために、滴下塔から排出されたポリマー粒子を乾燥させ、かつ乾燥させたポリマー粒子の質量は、使用されるモノマーの質量によって除される。滴下塔中の壁被覆物は顧慮されない。
アクリル酸1.6kg及びアクリル酸ナトリウム14.4kg(水中37.5質量%溶液)を、3エトキシル化されたグリセリントリアクリラート12g(約85質量%)と混合した。前記モノマー溶液の酸素含量は、0.0006質量%であった。得られた混合物を、加熱された滴下塔中で滴下した(高さ12m、幅2m、並流でガス速度0.1m/s)。前記混合物の計量供給速度は16kg/hであった。前記滴下プレートは、170μmあたり30個の穴を有していた。前記開始剤を、滴下器の前でスタティックミキサーを介して前記モノマー溶液中へ計量供給した。開始剤として、水中の2,2′−アゾビス[2−(2−イミダゾリン−2−イル)プロパン]二塩酸塩の5質量%溶液580g/h及び水中のペルオキソ二硫酸ナトリウムの3質量%溶液440g/hを使用した。ガス予熱の火力を、ガス出口温度が、滴下塔中で一定に130℃であるように制御した。
例1のように行った。その酸素含量を1体積%に上昇させた。

Claims (11)
- a)少なくとも1つのエチレン系不飽和モノマー、
b)選択的に架橋剤、
c)少なくとも1つの開始剤及び
d)水
を含有するモノマー溶液の液滴を、反応空間内の周囲の気相中で重合させることによる、吸水性ポリマー粒子の製造方法であって、前記モノマー溶液が酸素を少なくとも0.0002質量%含有し、かつ前記気相の酸素含量が少なくとも0.5体積%であり、酸素含量が多くとも10体積%であることを特徴とする、吸水性ポリマー粒子の製造方法。 - 前記モノマー溶液が酸素を少なくとも0.0004質量%含有する、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記気相の酸素含量が少なくとも1体積%である、請求項1又は2記載の方法。
- 前記気相の窒素含量が少なくとも80体積%である、請求項1から3までのいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 前記気相が前記反応空間を少なくとも0.01m/sの速度で貫流する、請求項1から4までのいずれか1項記載の方法。
- ガス入口温度が低くとも160℃である、請求項5記載の方法。
- ガス出口温度が高くとも180℃である、請求項5又は6記載の方法。
- モノマーa)の少なくとも50mol%がアクリル酸である、請求項1から7までのいずれか1項記載の方法。
- アクリル酸が少なくとも25mol%中和されている、請求項8記載の方法。
- 前記モノマー溶液が、モノマーa)を基準として、架橋剤b)を少なくとも0.01質量%含有する、請求項1から9までのいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 前記液滴が少なくとも200μmの平均直径を有する、請求項1から10までのいずれか1項記載の方法。
