Description
Claims (8)
- 電源のエネルギー移送要素に結合されるスイッチと、
前記スイッチのスイッチングを制御して、出力電圧と出力電流の組合せを含む前記電源の出力を調節するために前記スイッチに結合される制御器と、
前記制御器に結合されるとともに前記電源の出力部から派生するフィードバック信号を受け取るように結合されるフィードバック回路とを備え、
前記出力電圧と前記出力電流の組合せは、前記電源が動作可能な調節された出力領域または無調節の出力領域のいずれかに対応し、該調節された出力領域では、前記出力は前記フィードバック信号に応答して、所望の態様で変化するように調節され、前記無調節の出力領域では、前記出力は前記フィードバック信号と実質的に独立であり、
1つの無調節の出力領域は、自己保護自動再始動領域であり、前記自己保護自動再始動領域においては、前記電源が低減された出力電圧および低減された平均出力電流にて動作可能であるとともに前記制御器が前記スイッチのスイッチングが無調節である第1の期間と前記スイッチのスイッチングが行われない第2の期間とを連続的に循環し、別の無調節の出力領域内では前記スイッチング・レギュレータは前記スイッチング・レギュレータの実質的に最大の出力電力で連続的な出力電力を供給し、前記フィードバック信号は、前記電源が動作可能である前記調節された出力領域または前記無調節の出力領域に対応する前記出力電圧および前記出力電流の組合せを特徴付ける、スイッチング・レギュレータ。 - バッテリ充電器の中に含まれることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のスイッチング・レギュレータ。
- 前記電源スイッチ、電流センス回路、および前記制御器は集積回路内に集積化されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のスイッチング・レギュレータ。
- 前記制御器はパルス幅変調制御器またはオン/オフ制御器であり、
前記フィードバック信号が十分に小さい場合には、前記コントローラは、前記レギュレータを前記無調節の自己保護自動再始動領域で動作させ、
前記フィードバック信号が上側しきい値よりも大きい場合には、前記コントローラは、前記レギュレータを無調節の阻止されたスイッチングモードで動作させて前記電源スイッチをオフ状態として、前記制御器が前記パルス幅変調制御器の場合にはゼロデューティサイクルを与えまた前記制御器が前記オン/オフ制御器の場合にはスイッチング動作を完全に不能動化させ、
前記フィードバック信号の他の大きさの場合に対しては、前記コントローラは、前記電源の出力を、該出力が前記フィードバック信号に応答して所望の態様で変化する前記調節されたモードで調節するかまたは前記レギュレータを前記別の無調節出力領域の無調節モードで動作させて前記最大出力電力を生成することを特徴とする請求項1記載のスイッチングレギュレータ。 - 電源の出力部から派生されるフィードバック信号を測定するステップと、
前記フィードバック信号が第1の閾値よりも小さければ、前記電源が低減された出力電圧および低減された平均出力電流で動作する無調節の自己保護自動再始動モードで前記電源を動作させるステップとを備え、前記電源を無調節の自己保護自動再始動モードで動作させるステップは、前記電源の無調節のスイッチングの第1の期間と前記電源のスイッチングのない第2の期間との間で連続的に循環するステップを備え、
前記フィードバック信号が前記第1の閾値と第2の閾値の間にある場合、無調節の最大電力モードで前記電源を動作させるステップと、
前記フィードバック信号が前記第1の閾値と第3の閾値の間であり、かつ前記第2の閾値よりも大きい場合、調節されたモードで前記電源を動作させるステップとを備え、
前記調節されたモードでは、前記出力は前記フィードバック信号に応答して所望の態様で変化するように調節され、前記無調節のモードでは前記出力は実質的に前記フィードバック信号と独立である、方法。 - 前記フィードバック信号が前記第3の閾値よりも大きい場合、無調節の阻止されたスイッチング・モードで前記電源を動作させて、前記電源のスイッチングを制御するように結合される制御器がパルス幅変調制御器の場合にはゼロデューティサイクルを与え、前記制御器がオン/オフ制御器の場合にはスイッチング動作を完全に不能動化させ、これにより前記電源が前記無調節の自己保護自動再始動モード、前記スイッチングのない無調節のスイッチング阻止モードまたは前記無調節の最大出力電力モードのいずれかで動作する場合には前記電源の出力が前記フィードバック信号に応答しては調節されなくするステップをさらに有することを特徴とする請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の閾値は前記第3の閾値よりも小さいことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記第2の閾値は前記第3の閾値以下であることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の方法。
