Description
TDDS #0は、TDDSの識別子、TDDSのアップデート回数を表すカウンタ情報、データの記録及び/または再生装置情報の位置情報、もし、対応するTDFLがある場合、そのTDFLが記録された位置情報、及びスペア領域1とスペア領域2の位置情報に該当するスペア領域のサイズ情報を含む。前記のように、もし、ユーザーが記録及び/または再生装置による欠陥管理を所望せずにスペア領域を割当てない場合には、スペア領域1及びスペア領域2のサイズは‘0’と記録される。
領域割当情報は、TDDS及びSBM領域の第一クラスタに記録された後、TDDS及びSBM領域の第一クラスタに該当するビットを‘1’とし、残りのクラスタに対する値は‘0’と記録する。
図7は、本発明の第3実施形態に係るデータ領域管理の可能な単一記録層ディスクを示す図である。
#i、最終化フラグ情報及びアップデートカウンタを含むヘッド情報と、ディスクの全体記録領域に対するデータ記録単位であるクラスタ単位でデータ記録如何を表すビットマップ情報であるビットマップ #i(i=0からnまでの整数)とを含む。
図16は、本発明の一実施形態に係る最終化されたSBM領域を示す図である。
一方、本実施形態に係る追記型ディスクの場合、欠陥管理のためにTDMAを設ける。しかし、書換可能なRe−writableディスクには、DMAのみがあり、TDMAは存在しないため、Re−writableディスク記録/再生装置で追記型ディスクを記録または再生するためには、互換性の問題が発生し得る。互換性の問題を解決するために、追記型ディスクの最終化以前にTDMAに記録されたTDFLをDMAに複写して記録する。

Claims (9)
- リードイン領域、データ領域及びリードアウト領域を備える追記型ディスクにおいて、
欠陥管理のための少なくとも一つの領域が前記データ領域に割当てられているか否かを表す領域割当情報を記録するための所定領域を備え、
前記リードイン領域は、当該追記型ディスクの欠陥を管理する欠陥管理領域(DMA)と、該欠陥管理領域とは、別に設けられた、臨時の欠陥管理領域である臨時欠陥管理領域(TDMA)とを有し、
前記臨時欠陥管理領域(TDMA)は、臨時欠陥管理情報(TDDS)と臨時欠陥情報(TDFL)を有し、
前記所定領域は、臨時欠陥管理情報(TDDS)の中に形成され、
前記臨時欠陥管理情報(TDDS)と前記臨時欠陥情報(TDFL)は、更に、欠陥管理領域(DMA)に記録され、
前記臨時欠陥管理情報(TDDS)は、臨時欠陥情報(TDFL)の位置情報を含むことを特徴とするディスク。 - 前記領域割当情報は、前記データ領域に割当てられた領域のサイズを表す情報を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のディスク。
- 欠陥管理のために前記データ領域に割当てられる領域は、スペア領域、臨時欠陥管理情報領域、臨時欠陥情報領域又は臨時欠陥管理領域を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のディスク。
- リードイン領域、データ領域及びリードアウト領域を備え、
前記リードイン領域は、当該追記型ディスクの欠陥を管理する欠陥管理領域(DMA)と、該欠陥管理領域とは別に設けられた臨時の欠陥管理領域である臨時欠陥管理領域(TDMA)とを有し、
前記臨時欠陥管理領域(TDMA)は、臨時欠陥管理情報(TDDS)と臨時欠陥情報(TDFL)を有する追記型ディスクのデータ領域の管理方法であって、
前記臨時欠陥管理領域(TDMA)の前記臨時欠陥管理情報(TDDS)の中に、当該ディスクの欠陥管理のための少なくとも一つの領域が前記データ領域に割当てられているか否かを表す領域割当情報を記録するステップを含み、
前記臨時欠陥管理情報(TDDS)は、臨時欠陥情報(TDFL)の位置情報を含み、
前記臨時欠陥管理情報(TDDS)と前記臨時欠陥情報(TDFL)は、更に、欠陥管理領域(DMA)に記録されることを特徴とするディスクのデータ領域の管理方法。 - 前記領域割当情報記録ステップは、
前記データ領域に割当てられた領域のサイズに関する情報を記録するステップを含むことを特徴とする請求項4に記載のディスクのデータ領域の管理方法。 - 欠陥管理のために前記データ領域に割当てられる前記領域は、スペア領域、臨時欠陥管理情報領域、臨時欠陥情報領域及び臨時欠陥管理領域のうち、少なくとも何れか一つの領域であることを特徴とする請求項4に記載のディスクのデータ領域の管理方法。
- リードイン領域、データ領域及びリードアウト領域を備え、
前記リードイン領域は、当該追記型ディスクの欠陥を管理する欠陥管理領域(DMA)と、該欠陥管理領域とは別に設けられた臨時の欠陥管理領域である臨時欠陥管理領域(TDMA)とを有し、
前記臨時欠陥管理領域(TDMA)は、臨時欠陥管理情報(TDDS)と臨時欠陥情報(TDFL)を有する追記型ディスクのデータの再生方法であって、
前記臨時欠陥管理領域(TDMA)の臨時欠陥管理情報(TDDS)から、前記ディスクの欠陥管理のための少なくとも一つの領域が前記データ領域に割当てられているか否かを表す領域割当情報を読み取るステップを含み、
前記臨時欠陥管理情報(TDDS)は臨時欠陥情報(TDFL)の位置情報を含み、
前記臨時欠陥管理情報(TDDS)と前記臨時欠陥情報(TDFL)は、更に、欠陥管理領域に記録されることを特徴とするデータの再生方法。 - 前記領域割当情報は、前記データ領域に割当てられた領域のサイズに関する情報を備えることを特徴とする請求項7に記載のデータの再生方法。
- 欠陥管理のために前記データ領域に割当てられる前記領域は、スペア領域、臨時欠陥管理情報領域、臨時欠陥情報領域及び臨時欠陥管理領域のうち、少なくとも何れか一つの領域であることを特徴とする請求項7に記載のデータの再生方法。
