本発明の第2側面によると、前面電極と背面電極とそれらの間に介在した有機物層とを含むと共に光共振器を構成した有機EL素子と、前記有機EL素子と向き合った着色層とを具備し、前記有機EL素子が法線方向に放出する最大強度の光の波長λ res は、前記着色層が最大の透過率T max を示す波長λ max と比較してより短く、前記波長λ res は青色光の波長範囲内にあることを特徴とする有機EL表示装置が提供される。
基板SUB1上には、図2に示すように、アンダーコート層UCとして、例えば、SiNx層とSiOx層とが順次積層されている。
Claims (6)
- 前面電極と背面電極とそれらの間に介在した有機物層とを含むと共に光共振器を構成した有機EL素子と、前記有機EL素子と向き合った着色層とを具備し、前記有機EL素子が法線方向に放出する最大強度の光の波長λresは、前記着色層が最大の透過率Tmaxを示す波長λmaxと比較してより短く、前記有機物層は白色光を放出し、前記着色層は、波長λ max と比較してより短い第1波長から前記波長λ max へ向けて透過率が増加し、前記波長λ max から前記波長λ max と比較してより長い第2波長へ向けて透過率が減少する透過特性を示すことを特徴とする有機EL表示装置。
- 前記波長λresは、前記波長λmaxと比較してより短く且つ前記着色層が前記透過率Tmaxの90%の透過率T90を示す波長λ90と等しいか又はそれよりも短いことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機EL表示装置。
- 前面電極と背面電極とそれらの間に介在した有機物層とを含むと共に光共振器を構成した有機EL素子と、前記有機EL素子と向き合った着色層とを具備し、前記有機EL素子が法線方向に放出する最大強度の光の波長λ res は、前記着色層が最大の透過率T max を示す波長λ max と比較してより短く、前記波長λ res は青色光の波長範囲内にあることを特徴とする有機EL表示装置。
- 前面電極と背面電極とそれらの間に介在した有機物層とを含むと共に光共振器を構成した有機EL素子と、前記前面電極と向き合った着色層とを各々が含んだ第1乃至第3画素を具備し、
前記第1画素は、前記第2画素と比較して、前記有機EL素子が法線方向に放出する最大強度の光の波長λresがより短く、前記第3画素は前記第2画素と比較して前記波長λresがより長く、
前記第1画素は、前記第2画素と比較して、前記着色層が最大の透過率Tmaxを示す波長λmaxがより短く、前記第3画素は前記第2画素と比較して前記波長λmaxがより長く、
前記第1乃至第3画素の各々において、前記波長λresは前記波長λmaxと比較してより短いことを特徴とする有機EL表示装置。 - 前記第1乃至第3画素の各々において、前記波長λresは、前記波長λmaxと比較してより短く且つ前記着色層が前記透過率Tmaxの90%の透過率T90を示す波長λ90と等しいか又はそれよりも短いことを特徴とする請求項4に記載の有機EL表示装置。
- 前記第1乃至第3画素の各々において、前記有機物層は白色光を放出することを特徴とする請求項4に記載の有機EL表示装置。
