算出された目標着座時期VclsANG_CMDは、故障判定部65に送られる。
算出された予測着座時期VclsANG_CALは、故障判定部65に送られる。
ここで、VclsANG_Adjは補正された着座時期である。VclsANGは、入力される着座時期(各気筒の実着座時期VclsANG#1〜#4および予測着座時期VclsANG_CALのいずれか)を表し、Gainは当該着座時期に関する補正用のゲインである。
この偏差e_idを用いて、式(5)により新たなゲインGainを算出する。
ここで、Gbaseはゲインの基準値を表し、ICPは最小二乗法の更新係数である。
以上、本発明の実施形態について説明したが、本発明はこのような実施形態に限定されるものではない。上述の実施形態では、吸気バルブ14のリフト量または開閉タイミングを連続的に変化させる連続可変動弁機構40の故障を検知する装置について説明したが、この故障検知装置は、リフト量または開閉タイミングを段階的に変化させるような既存の可変動弁機構にも適用することが可能である。

Claims (4)
- 運転状態に応じてバルブの開閉時期またはリフト量を切り替える可変動弁機構を備えた内燃機関において、該可変動弁機構の故障を検知する装置であって、
気筒内の振動を検出する手段と、
前記検出手段の出力信号から前記バルブの着座音に関する周波数成分を抽出する手段と、
前記着座音に関する周波数成分から前記バルブの実着座時期を求める手段と、
前記運転状態に応じて決められる前記バルブの要求リフト量、要求進角量、または要求開角量の少なくとも1つに基づき、前記バルブの目標着座時期を算出する手段と、
前記検出手段の劣化または個体差に起因する前記実着座時期と前記目標着座時期との定常偏差が無くなるように調節されたゲインを逐次取得される前記着座時期に掛け合わせることによって前記実着座時期を補正する手段と、
前記補正された実着座時期と前記目標着座時期とを比較して、前記可変動弁機構の故障を判定する手段と、を有し、
前記可変動弁機構は、連続的にリフト量を変更可能な可変リフト機構または連続的に進角量を変更可能な可変位相機構を含んでおり、
前記筒内圧センサの出力信号は、筒内圧の変化率に応じた信号であり、積分することにより前記筒内圧となる筒内圧の変化(筒内圧の微分値)である、内燃機関の可変動弁機構の故障検知装置。 - 前記連続可変動弁機構に設置された作動角センサの検出信号より予測着座時期を算出する手段をさらに有し、
前記補正手段が、さらに、前記予測着座時期と前記目標着座時期との定常偏差に応じて、前記予測着座時期を補正し、
前記故障判定手段が、さらに、前記補正された予測着座時期と前記目標着座時期とを比較して、前記可変動弁機構の故障を判定する、
請求項1に記載の故障検知装置。 - 前記補正された実着座時間または予測着座時間と前記目標着座時期との偏差の高周波を除去するように、該偏差をフィルタ処理する手段をさらに有し、
前記故障判定手段が、前記偏差に基づき前記可変動弁機構の故障を判定する、
請求項1または請求項2に記載の故障検知装置。 - 前記故障判定手段は、前記補正された実着座時期または予測着座時間と前記目標着座時期との偏差が所定値を超えた状態が所定時間継続した場合に、前記可変動弁機構の故障を判定する、請求項1ないし請求項3のいずれか一項に記載の故障検知装置。
