Abstract
Description
本出願は、本明細書に引用によって組込まれる2014年1月13日出願の米国仮特許出願第62/012,166号の「35 U.S.C.§119(e)」の下での利益を主張するものである。
Claims (15)
- 刺激リードであって、
長手方向長さ、遠位部分、及び近位部分を含むリード本体と、
前記刺激リード本体の近位部分に沿って配置された複数の端子と、
前記刺激リード本体の遠位部分に結合され又は前記刺激リード本体の遠位部分に沿って配置された電極担体と、
複数のセグメント電極を含む複数の電極と、
前記刺激リード本体に沿って延び且つ前記複数の電極を前記複数の端子に結合する複数の導線と、を有し、
前記電極担体は、外面と、中心内腔と、刺激領域とを有し、
前記刺激領域は、前記外面と前記中心内腔の間を延びる複数のセグメント電極受入れ孔を有し、且つ、非導電材料で形成され、前記セグメント電極受入れ孔の各々に対して前記電極担体の外面から差込まれた出張りが、前記セグメント電極受入れ孔の周囲に沿って配置され、
前記複数のセグメント電極の各々は、外側刺激面と、その反対側の内面と、前記外側刺激面を前記内面に接続する側壁を有し、前記刺激リードの円周の75%よりも多くなく延び、且つ、前記電極担体のセグメント電極受入れ孔のうちの異なる1つに配置され、前記外側刺激面は、前記セグメント電極受入れ孔を介して露出され、前記内面は、前記セグメント電極受入れ孔の周囲に沿って配置された前記出張りに当接する、刺激リード。 - 更に、導体担体を有し、前記導体担体は、前記電極担体の中心内腔に沿って配置され、中心内腔を有し、前記複数の導線の各々の部分を収容する、請求項1に記載の刺激リード。
- 前記導体担体は、前記導体担体の中心内腔の周囲に沿って配置された複数の導体内腔を有し、前記複数の導線は、前記複数の導体内腔内に配置される、請求項2に記載の刺激リード。
- 前記導体担体は、前記複数の導体内腔の各々を前記複数のセグメント電極受入れ孔に露出させる除去領域を有する、請求項3に記載の刺激リード。
- 前記電極担体は、内側スリーブと、前記内側スリーブの上に配置された外側スリーブとを含み、前記外側スリーブは、前記複数のセグメント電極受入れ孔を含み、前記内側スリーブは、前記電極担体の中心内腔を、前記外側スリーブに構成された複数のセグメント電極受入れ孔に露出させる複数の導体孔を有する、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の刺激リード。
- 前記複数のセグメント電極のうちの少なくとも1つは、少なくとも1つの結合溝を有し、前記少なくとも1つの結合溝は、前記セグメント電極の外側刺激面に沿って配置され、接着剤を介して前記電極担体の前記刺激領域に取付けられる、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の刺激リード。
- 前記セグメント電極のうちの少なくとも1つは、少なくとも1つの係止孔を有し、前記少なくとも1つの係止孔は、前記セグメント電極の外側刺激面と内面の間を延び且つポリマー材料で充填される、請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の刺激リード。
- 前記複数のセグメント電極のうちの少なくとも1つは、少なくとも1つの係止タブを有し、前記少なくとも1つの係止タブは、前記セグメント電極の側壁のうちの少なくとも1つから外向きに延びる、請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の刺激リード。
- 前記複数の電極は、更に、先端電極及び少なくとも1つのリング電極のうちの少なくとも一方を含む、請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載の刺激リード。
- 電気刺激システムであって、
請求項1〜9のいずれか1項に記載の刺激リードと、
前記刺激リードの複数の電極に電気的に結合された制御モジュールと、
前記刺激リードを受入れるコネクタアセンブリと、を含み、
前記制御モジュールは、ハウジングと、前記ハウジング内に配置された電子サブアセンブリと、を含み、
前記コネクタアセンブリは、前記刺激リードを受入れるように構成され且つ配置された少なくとも1つのポートを含むコネクタハウジングと、前記コネクタハウジング内に配置された複数のコネクタ接点を含み、前記コネクタ接点は、前記刺激リードの近位部分に沿って配置された複数の端子に結合するように構成され且つ配置される、電気刺激システム。 - 刺激リードを製造する方法であって、
複数のセグメント電極受入れ孔を有する非導電電極担体を準備する段階を有し、前記セグメント電極受入れ孔の各々に対して、前記電極担体の外面から差込まれた出張りが前記セグメント電極受入れ孔の周囲に沿って配置され、
更に、複数のセグメント電極を、前記複数のセグメント電極の内面が前記差込まれた出張りに当接するまで前記複数のセグメント電極受入れ孔の中に押圧する段階を有し、前記セグメント電極の各々は、前記刺激リードの円周の75%よりも多くなくその周りに延び、前記電極担体のセグメント電極受入れ孔のうちの異なる1つに配置され、
更に、複数の導体を前記複数のセグメント電極に電気的に結合させる段階と、
前記複数の導体を前記刺激リードの反対側の端部に沿って配置された複数の端子に電気的に結合させる段階と、を含む方法。 - 前記複数のセグメント電極は、締り嵌めによって前記複数のセグメント電極受入れ孔に保持され、
選択的に、前記複数のセグメント電極のうちの少なくとも1つの外側刺激面に沿って構成された少なくとも1つの結合溝に、前記セグメント電極を前記電極担体に結合させる接着剤を付加する段階を含む、請求項11に記載の方法。 - 前記複数の導体を前記複数の端子に電気的に結合させる段階は、前記電極担体の中心内腔に沿って少なくとも部分的に配置された導体担体の長手方向長さに沿って、前記複数の導体を延ばす段階を含む、請求項11又は12に記載の方法。
- 前記導体担体の長手方向長さに沿って前記複数の導体を延ばす段階は、前記導体担体の一部分に沿って構成された導体孔を通して前記複数の導体を延ばす段階、及び、前記導体担体の一部分に沿って構成された除去領域を通して前記複数の導体を延ばす段階のうちの少なくとも一方を含む、請求項13に記載の方法。
- 更に、前記電極担体をポリマー材料で埋戻す段階、及び、リフローする段階のうちの少なくとも一方を含む、請求項11〜14のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
