Abstract
Description
本出願は、2009年7月24日出願の米国仮特許出願第61/271,738号明細書の優先権を主張するものである。

Claims (24)
- 約3重量%未満の酸素含有率を有し、約8m2/g〜約15m2/gの範囲の表面積を有する炭化ケイ素粉末と;
炭化ホウ素粉末と;
炭素焼結助剤と
を含む炭化ケイ素素地。 - 炭化ホウ素が約10重量%〜約40重量%の範囲の量で存在する、請求項1に記載の炭化ケイ素素地。
- 前記炭化ホウ素粉末が約6m2/g〜約18m2/gの範囲の表面積を有する、請求項1に記載の炭化ケイ素素地。
- 炭素焼結助剤が少なくとも一部はフェノール樹脂およびカーボンブラックの1種として存在する、請求項1に記載の炭化ケイ素素地。
- 炭素焼結助剤が約2重量%〜約8重量%の範囲の量で存在する、請求項1に記載の炭化ケイ素素地。
- 約3重量%未満の酸素含有率を有し、約8m2/g〜約15m2/gの範囲の表面積を有する炭化ケイ素粉末と;
約5nm〜約100nmの範囲の平均粒径を有する炭化チタン粉末と;

- 炭素焼結助剤が約2重量%〜約8重量%の範囲の量で存在する、請求項7に記載の炭化ケイ素素地。
- 約3重量%未満の酸素含有率を有し、約8m2/g〜約15m2/gの範囲の表面積を有する炭化ケイ素粉末を、炭化ホウ素粉末および炭素焼結助剤と混合して未熟成混合物を形成する工程と;
前記未熟成混合物を造形して炭化ケイ素素地にする工程と;
前記炭化ケイ素素地を、約2125℃〜約2250℃の範囲の温度で約2時間〜約4時間の間それが実質的に不活性である雰囲気中で焼結して、それによって炭化ケイ素の理論密度の少なくとも98%の密度を有する炭化ケイ素焼結体を形成する工程と
を含む炭化ケイ素物焼結体の形成方法。 - 炭化ホウ素が約10重量%〜約40重量%の範囲の量で前記未熟成混合物中に存在する、請求項13に記載の方法。
- 前記炭化ホウ素粉末が約6m2/g〜約18m2/gの範囲の表面積を有する、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 炭素焼結助剤が少なくとも一部はフェノール樹脂およびカーボンブラックの1種として前記未熟成混合物中に存在する、請求項13に記載の方法。
- 炭素焼結助剤が約2重量%〜約8重量%の範囲の量で前記未熟成混合物中に存在する、請求項13に記載の方法。
- 約3重量%未満の酸素含有率を有し、約8m2/g〜約15m2/gの範囲の表面積を有する炭化ケイ素粉末を、約5nm〜約100nmの範囲の平均粒径を有する炭化チタン粉末および炭素焼結助剤と混合して未熟成混合物を形成する工程と;
前記未熟成混合物を造形して炭化ケイ素素地にする工程と;
前記炭化ケイ素素地を、約2125℃〜約2250℃の範囲の温度で約2時間〜約4時間の間それが実質的に不活性である雰囲気中で焼結して、それによって炭化ケイ素の理論密度の少なくとも98%の密度を有する炭化ケイ素焼結体を形成する工程と

- 炭素焼結助剤が約2重量%〜約8重量%の範囲の量で前記未熟成混合物中に存在する、請求項19に記載の方法。
