Abstract
【解決手段】表示装置は、画素領域に液晶ドメインを形成するための陥没パターンを含むドメイン形成層及びドメイン形成層上に形成された画素電極を含む第1基板と、第1基板に対向する全面に形成された共通電極を含む第2基板と、第1基板と第2基板との間に介在し、陥没パターンを中心に液晶ドメインを形成する液晶分子を固定させる反応性メソゲンを有する液晶層と、を含む。よって、共通電極に別途のパターンが無くても液晶ドメインを形成することができ、開口率を向上させることができ、製造工程を単純化させることができるため、表示装置の生産性及び表示品質を向上させることができる。

Claims (10)
- 画素領域に液晶ドメインを形成するための陥没パターンを含むドメイン形成層及び画素電極を含む第1基板と、
前記第1基板と対向する全面に形成された共通電極を含む第2基板と、
前記第1基板と前記第2基板との間に介在され、液晶ドメインを形成する液晶分子を固定させる反応性メソゲンを有する液晶層と、
を含むことを特徴とする表示装置。 - 第1基板は、
前記画素電極と電気的に接続されたコンタクト電極を含むスイッチング素子を含み、前記陥没パターンは、前記コンタクト電極を露出させることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。 - 前記第1基板は、
前記コンタクト電極とオーバーラップされたストレージラインをさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の表示装置。 - 前記第1基板は、
前記画素領域の前記ドメイン形成層の下部に形成され、前記ストレージラインと直接コンタクトするボトム電極をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の表示装置。 - 前記ボトム電極は、透明電極層から形成されることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の表示装置。
- 前記ドメイン形成層は、少なくとも1つのカラーフィルタを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- 前記ドメイン形成層は、前記カラーフィルタ上に形成され、前記陥没パターンを含むパターン層を含むことを特徴とする請求項6に記載の表示装置。
- 前記第1基板は、前記画素電極と電気的に接続されたコンタクト電極を含むスイッチング素子を含み、
前記ドメイン形成層は、前記コンタクト電極を露出させ、前記コンタクト電極を前記画素電極とコンタクトさせるコンタクトホールを更に含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。 - 画素領域に液晶ドメインを形成するための開口パターンを有する画素電極を含む第1基板と、
前記第1基板と対向し、共通電極を含む第2基板と、
前記第1基板と前記第2基板との間に介在され、液晶ドメインを形成する液晶分子を固定させる反応性メソゲンを有する液晶層と、
を含むことを特徴とする表示装置。 - 前記第1基板は、
前記画素領域に形成されたボトム電極と、
前記ボトム電極の端部と直接コンタクトするストレージラインと、をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項9に記載の表示装置。
