Abstract
【解決手段】組織サンプル処理システムにおいて用いられるサンプル保持トレイであって:試薬保持凹部を規定する試薬保持部分;試薬表面を含むプラテンを規定するサンプル保持部分;および該試薬保持凹部を該試薬表面と流体連絡に置くような形態である流体流れ部分を備える、サンプル保持トレイ。この試薬保持凹部内には、試薬がさらに備えられ得る。

Description
本発明は、一般に組織サンプル処理システムに関し、特に、このようなシステムで用いられるサンプル保持トレイに関する。
組織プロセッサーは、種々のレベルの自動化とともに操作され得、組織学的または病理学の使用のためのヒトまたは動物組織標本を処理する。種々のタイプの化学的試薬が、組織処理の種々のステージで用いられ得、そして種々のシステムが、スライドを含む標本に試薬を送達するために開発されている。公知の試薬送達システムの例は、小量放出ディスペンサー、試薬バットに手動で注ぐこと、または管材を経由してプロセッサーと連結されたバルクコンテナを経由することを含む。
(項目1)サンプル保持トレイであって:
試薬保持凹部を規定する試薬保持部分;
試薬表面を含むプラテンを規定するサンプル保持部分;および
該試薬保持凹部を該試薬表面と流体連絡に置くような形態である流体流れ部分を備える、サンプル保持トレイ。
(項目2)前記試薬保持凹部内に試薬をさらに備える、項目1に記載のサンプル保持トレイ。
(項目3)前記試薬保持凹部内の第1の試薬が、流動化可能なマトリックス内に含まれる、項目2に記載のサンプル保持トレイ。
(項目4)前記流れ部分が、上から分配される流体を受容するような形態である前記試薬表面と流体連絡しているドリップ表面を含む、項目1に記載のサンプル保持トレイ。
(項目5)前記ドリップ表面が、前記試薬保持凹部と前記プラテンとの間に位置する、項目4に記載のサンプル保持トレイ。
(項目6)前記サンプル保持トレイ内に、顕微鏡スライドを、該顕微鏡スライドが前記試薬表面上に間隔を置いて配置され、それによって、該スライドとの前記プラテンとの間に反応チャンバを形成するように位置決めするような形態の少なくとも1つのスライド位置決め要素をさらに備える、項目1に記載のサンプル保持トレイ。
(項目7)前記スライド位置決め要素が、スライドを、該スライドの底表面が前記プラテンの試薬表面に対して角度をなすように保持する形態である、項目6に記載のサンプル保持トレイ。
(項目8)前記反応チャンバ内に位置決めされた組織切片をさらに備える、項目6に記載のサンプル保持トレイ。
(項目9)角度をなす上表面、および該角度をなす表面上に位置決めされた機械読み取り可能な識別子を有する側壁をさらに備え、該機械読み取り可能な識別子が、前記試薬保持凹部内に含まれる試薬に関する情報を提供するような形態である、項目1に記載のサンプル保持トレイ。
(項目10)前記試薬保持凹部上に位置決めされるシールをさらに備える、項目2に記載のサンプル保持トレイ。
(項目11)前記プラテンの近位端上の入口ポート、および該プラテンの遠位端上の排出ポートのうちの少なくとも1つをさらに備える、項目1に記載のサンプル保持トレイ。
(項目12)少なくとも1つの排出ポートをさらに備え、該排出ポートがスクリーンを含む、項目1に記載のサンプル保持トレイ。
(項目13)前記プラテンが、該プラテンの遠位端にあるプラテンの試薬表面から上方に延びる肩部を含む、項目1に記載のサンプル保持トレイ。
(項目14)前記プラテンの遠位端に隣接して位置決めされたロッカーをさらに備え、該ロッカーが前記肩部に対してより低いレベルにある上表面を含む、項目13に記載のサンプル保持トレイ。
(項目15)オーバーフローおよび混合レザバをさらに備える、項目1に記載のサンプル保持トレイ。
(項目16)前記オーバーフローレザバが前記反応チャンバと流体連絡にあり、それによって前記スライド保持トレイ中に位置決めされたスライドを有する湿潤制御システムを形成する、項目15に記載のサンプル保持トレイ。

(項目18)組織サンプルを処理する方法であって;
サンプル保持トレイ中に含まれる試薬凹部中に試薬を含むサンプル保持トレイを選択する工程;および
該サンプル保持トレイ上に顕微鏡スライドを位置決めする工程であって、該スライドと該サンプル保持トレイのプラテンとの間に反応チャンバを形成する工程を包含し、
ここで、該スライドが、その表面上に位置決めされた組織サンプルを含み、そして該スライドが、該サンプル保持トレイ上に、該組織サンプルが該スライドと該プラテンとの間に位置決めされるように位置決めされる、方法。
(項目19)前記試薬凹部から前記試薬を流動化可能な形態で放出し、それによって、該試薬が該試薬凹部から前記反応チャンバに流れる工程をさらに包含する、項目18に記載の組織サンプルを処理する方法。

(項目23)流体を、前記反応チャンバ中に、前記プラテンの入口ポートから導入する工程をさらに包含する、項目18に記載の組織サンプルを処理する方法。
(項目24)前記流体を、前記プラテン中の排出ポートを経由して前記反応チャンバから排出する工程をさらに包含する、項目18に記載の組織サンプルを処理する方法。
本発明は、公知の自動化スライド染色システムの欠点を大きな程度軽減し、これは、組織処理システムで利用され得るサンプル保持トレイおよび反応チャンバを提供することによる。好ましくは、このサンプル保持トレイは、反応チャンバを提供し、そして必要に応じて1つ以上の試薬レザバ中に試薬または複数の試薬を保持する。1つの実施形態では、上記保持トレイは、プラテン、ドリップ表面、および試薬コンテナとして作用する凹部を含む。この試薬コンテナは、基質を処理することで用いられ得る第1の試薬のような、試薬または試薬の組み合わせを収容し得る。このトレイ内に収容される試薬は、本明細書では「凹部試薬」として称される。

Claims (11)

該サンプル保持トレイの表面上に位置決めれされる識別子であって、該サンプルのための処理に付随する機械読み取り可能な情報を含む識別子を備える、装置。 - 前記サンプルが顕微鏡スライド上に載せられ、そして該顕微鏡スライドが、前記サンプル保持部分内に保持され得る、請求項1に記載の装置。
