【解決手段】基板100上に第2の発光素子110と第1の発光素子120を直列に積層する。2つのピーク(青色〜緑色の波長領域に2つのピーク)を有する発光スペクトルを示す第1の発光素子120を光反射性材料膜から近い距離に配置し、橙色〜赤色の波長領域にピークを有する発光スペクトルを示す第2の発光素子110を光反射性材料膜から遠い距離に配置する。

まず、積層した発光素子の構成の一例について図1(A)に説明する。基板100上に第2の発光素子110と第1の発光素子120を直列に積層する。第1の発光素子120は、第1の陽極121と第1の陰極123の間に第1の発光層122を有する構造である。
図2(A)に素子構成を示した。図2(A)は、基板300上に第1の発光素子320と第2の発光素子310が直列に積層された、本発明の発光素子の構成例である。第1の発光素子320は、第1の陽極321と第1の陰極323の間に第1の発光層322−1及び第2の発光層322−2を有する構造である。また、第2の発光素子310は、第2の陽極311と第2の陰極313の間に第3の発光層312−1及び第4の発光層312−2を有する構造である。

Claims (19)
- 透光性を有する基板上に、第1の陽極と第1の陰極との間に発光性の有機化合物を含む第1の発光層を有する第1の発光素子と、第2陽極と第2陰極との間に発光性の有機化合物を含む第2の発光層及び第3の発光層を有する第2の発光素子とが直列に積層された発光素子であり、
前記第1の陰極と前記第2の陽極は接しており、
前記第1の発光素子は、赤色の波長領域にピークを有する第1の発光スペクトルを示し、前記第2の発光素子は、青色の波長領域、及び緑色の波長領域の両方にピークを有する第2の発光スペクトルを示し、白色発光を示す発光素子。 - 前記第1の発光層は、4H−ピラン誘導体をゲスト材料とし、金属錯体とテトラセン誘導体とを混合したホスト材料とする請求項1に記載の発光素子。
- 前記第2の発光層は、2位にアミノ基が置換されたアントラセン誘導体をゲスト材料とし、ホール輸送性の芳香族アミン化合物をホスト材料とすることを特徴とする請求項1または請求項2に記載の発光素子。
- 前記第3の発光層は、スチリルアミン誘導体をゲスト材料とし、電子輸送性のアントラセン誘導体をホスト材料とすることを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか一に記載の発光素子。
- 前記第1の発光層は、{2−イソプロピル−6−[2−(2,3,6,7−テトラヒドロ−1,1,7,7−テトラメチル−1H,5H−ベンゾ[ij]キノリジン−9−イル)エテニル]−4H−ピラン−4−イリデン}プロパンジニトリル、或いは{2,6−ビス[2−(2,3,6,7−テトラヒドロ−8−メトキシ−1,1,7,7−テトラメチル−1H,5H−ベンゾ[ij]キノリジン−9−イル)エテニル]−4H−ピラン−4−イリデン}プロパンジニトリルをゲスト材料とし、トリス(8−キノリノラト)アルミニウムとルブレンとを混合したホスト材料とする請求項1に記載の発光素子。
- 前記第2の発光層は、N−(9,10−ジフェニル−2−アントリル)−N,9−ジフェニル−9H−カルバゾール−3−アミンをゲスト材料とし、4,4’−ビス[N−(1−ナフチル)−N−フェニルアミノ]ビフェニルをホスト材料とすることを特徴とする請求項1または請求項2に記載の発光素子。
- 前記第3の発光層は、N,N’−ビス[4−(9H−カルバゾール−9−イル)フェニル]−N,N’−ジフェニルスチルベン−4,4’−ジアミンをゲスト材料とし、9−[4−(10−フェニル−9−アントリル)フェニル]−9H−カルバゾールをホスト材料とすることを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか一に記載の発光素子。
- 第1の陽極と第1の陰極との間に発光性の有機化合物を含む第1の発光層及び第2の発光層を有する第1の発光素子と、第2陽極と第2陰極との間に発光性の有機化合物を含む第3の発光層及び第4の発光層を有する第2の発光素子とが直列に積層された発光素子であり、
前記第1の発光素子は、第1の発光スペクトルを示し、前記第2の発光素子は、第2の発光スペクトルを示し、前記第1の発光素子と前記第2の発光素子は、それぞれ異なる発光スペクトルが合成されて白色発光を形成する発光素子。 - 前記第1の発光層は、4H−ピラン誘導体をゲスト材料とし、芳香族アミン化合物をホスト材料とする請求項8に記載の発光素子。
- 前記第2の発光層は、アントラセン誘導体をゲスト材料とし、前記アントラセン誘導体とは異なるアントラセン誘導体をホスト材料とする請求項8または請求項9に記載の発光素子。
- 前記第3の発光層は、テトラセン誘導体をゲスト材料とし、芳香族アミン化合物をホスト材料とする請求項8乃至10のいずれか一に記載の発光素子。
- 前記第4の発光層は、スチリルアミン誘導体をゲスト材料とし、アントラセン誘導体をホスト材料とする請求項8乃至11のいずれか一に記載の発光素子。
- 前記第1の発光層は、{2,6−ビス[2−(2,3,6,7−テトラヒドロ−8−メトキシ−1,1,7,7−テトラメチル−1H,5H−ベンゾ[ij]キノリジン−9−イル)エテニル]−4H−ピラン−4−イリデン}プロパンジニトリルをゲスト材料とし、4,4’−ビス[N−(1−ナフチル)−N−フェニルアミノ]ビフェニルをホスト材料とする請求項8に記載の発光素子。
- 前記第2の発光層は、9,10−ビス{4−[N−(4−ジフェニルアミノ)フェニル−N−フェニル]アミノフェニル}−2−tert−ブチルアントラセンをゲスト材料とし、9−[4−(10−フェニル−9−アントリル)フェニル]−9H−カルバゾールをホスト材料とする請求項8または請求項9に記載の発光素子。
- 前記第3の発光層は、ルブレンをゲスト材料とし、4,4’−ビス[N−(1−ナフチル)−N−フェニルアミノ]ビフェニルをホスト材料とする請求項8乃至10のいずれか一に記載の発光素子。
- 前記第4の発光層は、N,N’−ビス[4−(9H−カルバゾール−9−イル)フェニル]−N,N’−ジフェニルスチルベン−4,4’−ジアミンをゲスト材料とし、9−[4−(10−フェニル−9−アントリル)フェニル]−9H−カルバゾールをホスト材料とする請求項8乃至11のいずれか一に記載の発光素子。
- 前記発光素子は、台形状の発光スペクトルを有する白色発光を示す請求項8乃至16のいずれか一に記載の発光素子。
- 請求項1乃至請求項17のいずれか一項に記載の発光素子を用いたことを特徴とする発光装置。
- カラーフィルターをさらに有することを特徴とする請求項18に記載の発光装置。
