Abstract

Viene descritto un processo per la separazione degli isomeri ottici dell'1, 2-isopropilidenglicerolo, di formula (1), che comprende un'idrolisi enzimatica dell'estere benzoilico dell' dell'1, 2-isopropilidenglicerolo (II), parzialmente stereoselettiva e catalizzata da una lipasi libera od immobilizzata; detta idrolisi viene condotta in presenza di un cosolvente e seguita da una cristallizzazione da cui si ottengono selettivamente cristalli di (II) in forma racema e acque madri contenenti (II) sotto forma di enantiomero puro.Il composto (I) ha ampio impiego industriale essendo utilizzato come intermedio per la sintesi di farmaci chirali quali (R)-( -)-carnitina, (S)-agenti beta bloccanti, (S)-agenti antivirali, farmaci analgesici, ecc.
