A gated ring forming a chain coupling link has a loop 1 provided at its ends 2, 3 with under-cut sliding surfaces 4, 5 and a rectangular closure member 7 provided with slots 8, 9 under-cut as the surfaces 4, 5, the bases of the slots being formed as guides so that member 7 slides on ends 2, 3 and the slots being limited so that a closing part 10 prevents member 7 from being pushed too far into the loop. A pin (not shown) is passed through bores 11, 12 which are aligned in the closed position.
