[Also in Division A4] A gapped ring e.g. for use as a connecting link in jewellery, has a sleeve c slidable over the ring ends a<SP>1</SP>, a<SP>2</SP> and which is then secured closing the gap b by crimping at d into the gap, by crimping into the ring on either side of the gap or by tinning the inside the sleeve and/or the ends of the ring and applying heat.
