Abstract

991,162. Dry shavers. NEEDLE INDUSTRIES Ltd. Aug. 30, 1961 [Aug. 30, 1960], No. 29807/60. Heading B4B. In a dry shaver comprising an apertured guard plate 10 and a co-operating cutter member 14. The cutter member and a rotary or oscillating drive spindle 17 have parts which interfit in the driving position and are relatively movable to a position in which the cutter member is releasable from the spindle after the guard plate 10 has been removed by sliding the sleeve 4 outwards against the action of a resilient retaining ring 5. The spindle has a neck 18, a non-circular driving portion 19 and a head 20, which form a spigot element. A drive-opening in the plate 15 interfits with the portion 19 of the spigot element and can be released by finger pressure against the action of spring 25 to bring the neck 18 into the opening 22 and sideways movement to pass the neck through the outlet 24 into the opening 23 through which the head 20 can pass. End coils 25a of the spring 25 are retained by a flange 6a on a guide bush 6 on the spindle 17, the bush being upwardly tapered to prevent ending of the spring and having a skirt 6b preventing entry of cut hair into the bearings and motor.
