Abstract
957,935. Hair clippers. WAHL CLIPPER CORPORATION. Jan. 29, 1963 [May 10, 1962], No. 3559/63. Heading B4B. In a hair clipper having an adjustable clipper head 11 in which a stationary blade 16 is movable longitudinally to vary the length of cut, the head comprises a metal or plastic plate 40 the reduced ends 41, 42, Fig. 7, of which are guided by flanges 32, 33, Fig. 5, of side portions 22, 23 of a plastic part 27 having an opening 30, the plate 40 having the blade 16 removably secured thereto and being provided with a recess 43 engageable by a key 52, Fig. 3, on a member 50 journalled in the portions 22, 23 and rotatable by a handle 20, Fig. 1, the member 50 having an enlarged end 58, Fig. 2, and one or more spring washers 64 for exerting inward pressure on the portions 22, 23. The washers are disposed between recesses 59, 60 of different size in the end 58 of handle 20 and are held in position by a screw 65. The blade 16 co-operates with a blade 15 which is reciprocable transversely by means of a motor. In a modification, the head 55 is located against the inner surface of portion 22.
