Abstract

985,910. Suspended ceilings &c. spring clips. GRECON SYSTEMS Ltd. April 21, 1961 [May 11, 1960], No. 16638/60. Headings E1V and E2B. Ceiling and like cladding is supported from a T-section rail 1, Fig. 3, by clips having a body 21 to engage the web of the T-section, a flange 24 for supporting the said cladding and a socket 23 between the body and flange adapted to receive a web 26 of a capping strip 25. The rail 1 is suspended by a hanger comprising a short length of metal 5, Fig. 1, formed with a bead 6 at one end to engage within a bulbous portion 4 of the web of the rail 1, the upper end of the metal length 5 being formed with an eye 7 which is secured by a cotter-pin, not shown, to a distance piece 8 which is secured to a tube 16 carrying a threaded end 17, this threaded end being received by an internally threaded tube rotatably suspended from a plate 13 which is secured to the overhead support. The upper end of the hanger may be extended at its upper end to form a strap which engages a framed structural member. Capping strips for internal and external corners is shown in Figs. 5 and 6. Noggin 33 may be secured to the rails 1 by T-section clips 37. Adjacent aligned T-section rails may be joined by a T-sectioned dowellike member slidden within the hollow web of the adjacent rails.
