Abstract

1357814 Suspended ceilings ALCAN RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT Ltd 8 Sept 1971 [9 Sept 1970] 41979/71 Heading E1W Ceiling panels 14 are supported by a plurality of parallel stringers 10 which are attached at either end to a flange 22 of a bracket 12 having a second flange 20 secured to a wall, the second flange having a resilient tongue 26 engaging and holding a flange 28 of a trim member 16 extending around the ceiling's periphery. The panels have inturned edges engaged in recesses 52 in the stringers. The gap between adjacent panels 14 is spanned by a closure strip 60 which may be a weather seal. Shoulders 44 on the stringers may support light fixtures, air diffusers or insulation material 66. The stringers may be additionally supported by cords 62 and two stringers may be longitudinally connected by a member fitting inside the stringers, Figs. 6 and 7 (not shown).
