A roller blind for use inside or outside e.g. a door or window is housed in a cylinder 1 rotatably mounted in a casing 2 with two longitudinal openings along the lower edge. Guides 11, 12 are, carried by the window or door frame, and the weighting bar 4, attached to the lower end of the blind, is brought opposite either of these guides by means of an articulated lever 13, 17 (Fig. 2) pivotally and slidably connected to the cylinder 1, and operable by a handle 13, which rotates the cylinder between ribs 7, 7<SP>1</SP> which stops the rotation by contacting longitudinal elastic ribs 5, 5<SP>1</SP>.
