Abstract
1377529 Window operating mechanism MEYERS TAYLOR PTY Ltd 13 March 1972 [12 March 1971 25 May 1971] 11552/72 Heading E2M A window assembly has a fixed window frame 10 and a casement window 14, and control means 18 for opening or closing the casement window including a mounting box 22 attached to the rear of the window frame, a screw-threaded rod 23 rotatable in the mounting box, a traveller nut 27 engaged on the rod, a link 29 pivoted at one end to the traveller nut, means for pivoting the link at its other end to the casement window 14 at a point 33 forwardly of the plane of the casement window, and means 34 for rotating the rod 23. The link passes through corresponding slots in the mounting box 22, window frame 10, and casement window 14. The rod 23 is rotated by means of a crank handle 34 operating through an overload clutch (not shown). An extension shaft 39 of the rod 23, and a transverse shaft (41), Figure 5 (not shown), operative by means of bevel gears (24, 42, 43), enable four such control assemblies 18, (19, 20, 21) to be operated simultaneously by the one handle 34.
