Abstract

966,258. One-component diazotype material. CHEMISCHE FABRIEK L. VAN DER GRINTEN N. V. April 9, 1963 [May 25,1962], No.20295/62. Heading G2C. One-component diazotype material comprises a translucent polyester support, an anchoring layer consisting of a butadiene-styrene copolymer or butadiene-acrylonitrile copolymer and a hydrophilic diazo layer which is a partially hydrolysed cellulose ester or polyvinyl ester containing a diazonium compound. There may be a layer of styrene/maleic acid copolymer between the anchoring layer and the diazo layer. The back of the support may be coated with a binder and a mineral filler so that it is receptive to pencil and ink markings. Specified fillers are silica, barium sulphate and titanium dioxide which may also be included in the diazo layer. Specified polyesters are polyethylene terephthalate and polycarbonates.
