Abstract
1,092,293. Photo-sensitive materials. KALLE A. G. Feb. 26, 1965 [Feb. 29, 1964], No.8443/65. Heading G2C. A heat-developable, two-component diazotype material comprises a support in which is distributed urea or an amide of a hydroxy- or an alkoxy-carboxylic acid which on heating will render neutral or alkaline the acid diazotype layer coated thereon. The support may be subbed with a vapour-permeable layer of a polymer, the sodium salt of polymethyl silicic acid, or silica preferably in conjunction with starch before the light-sensitive layer is applied. The lightsensitive layer may also contain urea or an amide but in a smaller amount than the support. In the examples a paper support is impregnated with a solution of urea or lactamide and an acid or ureaglycerol resin, optionally coated with vinylphosphoric acid or a polyamide epoxide resin and then coated with a two-component diazotype composition also containing an acid, urea and trichloracetic acid. This material is imagewise exposed and then developed by heating to give an azo dye image.
