940,352. Window frames. HEINRICH BROESE, [trading as METEOR VEREINIGTER EISEN-UND STHLBAU H. BROESE KOMM.-GES.]. Nov. 9, 1961 [Feb. 9, 1961], No. 40108/61. Heading E1J. Window frames and casements, especially for use in glass brick walls, are formed of hard plastics material. The tilting window shown comprises a frame 3 with externally protruding ribs 5 and an internally projecting stop 6 which engages the casement 4 having a stop 9 and internally projecting receiving ribs 7, 7<SP>1</SP>. During construction, the frame and casement are held apart by temporary supports 16, 17 which have ribs projecting into holes 15, 14 in the frame and casement, which holes serve as condensation passages when the supports are removed. A metal lintel bar 13 clips over the central rib 5 and projects each side of the window. A bank of windows may be formed (Fig. 10) by joining the central ribs 5 with short couplings 20, 21 screwed together, the edge rib joints being covered with strips 23, spring into place. The window may also have a hinged, tipping, or revolving casement.
